Yeah, i'm not sure why it would be any different. I could be mistaken, but normally it would be African American, Native American, Hispanic or Latino. Although I really do believe other factors go into diversity--you don't have to be one of the ones listed above to be viewed as a diverse candidate.potterpirate04 wrote:this question may or may not have an obvious answer, i don't know (the anxiety is getting to me), but does anyone know what classifies as URM at UH? just curious. is it just what is traditionally defined as URM in general?

thanks. URM is always a tricky topic to understand, and while applying it's been the one factor that i've never been fully able to figure out.helpplease wrote:Yeah, i'm not sure why it would be any different. Yeah I agree. Im not any of those that I listed but I still wrote a diversity statement. I think everyone should!potterpirate04 wrote:thanks. I didn't hear back on Friday like some of the other people on here. Think that means I'm going to be waiting until January? UH is so slow about everything anyway and Christmas break is coming up for them by the end of the week. Based on LSN from last year, it doesn't look like people usually hear back in December so maybe they're a bit quicker this year!

I also went into review on 11/26 but haven't heard back yet. Based on the 2010 LSN dates, it looks like decisions come out slowly throughout this whole week so I'm still hoping! I feel like you can expect to be under review for at least 2-3 weeks.

I'm honestly not expecting a decision any time soon either way. UH is sorta a long shot for me anyway.

In the spirit of impatience, does anyone know anyone who's gotten a rejection yet? (Or, if you feel comfortable sharing, has anyone them self gotten a rejection yet?) Just curious to see if they've only sent out auto-admits yet (which is what they've probably done) or if they've sent out auto-rejects as well. As someone on the edge (or perhaps lower) I'm getting anxious.
