Davis sits atop my theoretical "realistic schools" list. Still evaluation in progress, though.

Not anymore. Went to high school there (10 years ago), not sure if it matters.

Hi all, any advise as to whether the 4 page limit on Personal Statements is a hard limit?
The website says: The statement is usually 2-4 pages in length, double-spaced, normal margins and 12 point font...Applicants interested in providing additional statements or addenda should strive to keep everything within the 4 page maximum.
Not sure how to interpret the 'usually' and 'strive to keep everything within 4 page maximum'... I read it as something close to 4.5 pages should be fine but not any longer. I have a 3.25 page PS and a 1.25 page Diversity Statement...I can start cutting these down but not sure if its necessary. Trying to get my app into Davis this week so any advise on the length issue would be super helpful!

Still "evaluation in progress." It has been quiet in this thread!

Yeah I just checked the LSN from last year, and it looks like Davis didn't really become active until the end of January into February. We've still got a couple weeks.

According to last year's thread the first round of decisions should go out today-ish. Their decision process looks to be roughly 10 business days, so the late December applications that went through evaluation should hear back shortly. Another takeaway from last year's thread is that each application is reviewed by all admissions committee members (in explanation of the lengthy review times). Good luck!

Does Davis notify the actual content of the decision via status checker? (I.e., not just 'decision rendered')?

Mine says "Current Status: Evaluation in Progress" -- but don't know how it will take to move from here. I am hoping for reverse splitter friendly here!

I submitted 11/9 and went complete on 12/6. Maybe I am just moving to a quick rejection now. I hope not.

I got in a few days before the Christmas break by email. My status didn't update for awhile though. It now says "Decision has been mailed" and links to my acceptance letter. I got the actual letter last week. I'm not sure when the status changed but I believe it was sometime last week.
