curious...is BLS anyone's first choice? i really want to go to school part-time in NYC

It's entirely relative - one person's safety is another's target. At any rate, as I'm sure you're hearing, be careful with the levels of debt you accrue. The lower the school's ranking/prestige/reach etc. the more wary you should be of borrowing money for it.

Let me spell this out clearly for you. Others' choices about which he was inquiring would be statements, claims, etc. Which, in that instance, is relative. I was not referencing the question in the proposition which you seem happy to quote. What I was saying was "He was asking if it was anyone else's first choice, [the answer to] which is obviously a relative claim." Wow, sorry you struggled with that one. Your initial response to him about how it's relative is pointless and redundant. Leave the wordplay for your idiotic ontological argument.

If that is what you intended, the correct wording would be "He was asking if it was anyone else's first choice, which obviously would be a relative claim." You are talking about an actual entity (the question) and an potential one (the response). The actual one should be referred to with an is, while the potential should be referred to with a would be or something similar.

And for whatever it's worth, the post to which I was responding was one of doceydoe's first ten posts on the board, and while it may seem pointless to you, I was trying to introduce her to the conventional TLS wisdom without invoking pejoratives like "shiTTTlaw" as I don't think that's cool.

It its one of my top choices for schools in New York.

Getting this conversation back on track.

I visited BLS and had the opportunity to meet and speak with admissions counselors. Their ED deadline is 12/1, so they begin looking at those first. In years past they have waitlisted a majority of ED because they felt the applications weren't strong enough applicants. They have also noted less people applying ED than before.

Given the school's location, reputation, and lack of application fee they tend to receive a growing application pool each year. I know that the number of LSAT test takers is down this year, but this might not have as strong an impact on schools like BLS.

Looking at LSN I would say that decision letters should go out sometime in January/Early February. I will be eagerly waiting with you all.

Did you get the newsletter that they send out to applicants? If so, I advise that you read the full newsletter carefully as it contains important information. Here is an excerpt that leads me to believe responses wont begin until mid-january.

Deadlines and Upcoming Events
J.D. Program — April 1

Applications should be completed and filed by April 1. However, as the application review for entering J.D. candidates proceeds on a modified rolling basis beginning in January,the process favors applicants whose documentation is completed earlier than the April date.

Applications completed after April 1 will be reviewed at the discretion of the Committee on Admissions as long as seats in the Entering Class remain available. As such, applicants who take the LSAT administered in June may still be eligible for fall admission.

Just to reiterate for those wondering about the updates in status and review. BLS started reviewing applications on a modified basis in January.

Haha you too! I applied sometime around 10-24 and have been in review since 12/6. I don't remember when I went complete after I submitted though.
