I wouldn't say American is a MUCH better school than Catholic.francesolaw wrote:I visited CUA too... crossed off my list. I spoke with my admissions counselor in my grad program and he recommended i should rather take a year off than compromising my financial future with a low-ranked/expensive law school like catholic. Since CUA is in the DC area where there are a lot of better competitive law schools, catholic holds very little weight.
On the other hand, I got accepted to American part-time. at least its a MUCH better school than catholic? why would people even pay to go there? i even felt scared waiting for the metro. not cool for late night studying purposes. i also had the same vibe with students... i also sat in on a class... if professor leary is the best CUA has, then thats sad. most other DC law schools have professors working the best of the best in DC. good luck all!:) PS DEC 2011 LSAT SCORES ARE OUT:)

Anyone have luck negotiating scholly? I have a full ride/ 2.0 stip to Villanova and a 15/yr to Washington and Lee, so basically I wouldn't consider without an increase in $ and a decrease in stip.

I got offered a scholarship yesterday and invited to interview for the possibility of an increased scholarship. Anyone else in a similar boat? I'm not really interested in Catholic, but I'm not yet willing to withdraw.

Admitted 2/2/12
I want to to decline my admission but can't seem to find the form to do it. Did I throw something away accidentally or is it done online? Most schools have sent me a form to fill out and return. I can't find that for Catholic and I'm wondering if I accidentally threw it out.

Well, I am sorta glad I got waitlisted at Catholic. It caused me to go out and apply to many other schools. I just got into Loyola Chicago, Baylor and Tennessee this week, and I got waitlisted at Notre Dame. I still have no idea why Catholic waitlisted me if I was able to get into these other higher ranked schools with scholarships.

I received the same email, and wrote back with my dates, but haven't heard anything since. I'm starting to wonder whether they sent me the email by mistake. Has anyone heard further about the interviews?missjessica wrote:I got offered a scholarship yesterday and invited to interview for the possibility of an increased scholarship. I also want to know more about the stipulations. They seem like there's a lot of room on the part of CUA to push people out.

got into catholic with a pretty good schoarlship
Plus I LOVE that it is in DC, which allows me to continue working in this city. (from the area). I visited catholic a few times. really awesome student community, nice law school building/resources, great aura. Loved it there and will attend in the Fall!:)

I was offered admission off of the WL last Friday, but I declined. So hopefully my spot will go to one of you! By the way, this was for the PT program because they said that only PT spots were left.dclaw2015 wrote:I amany news on WL?

Last I heard from admissions was that they would begin to review waitlisted files the first week of May. No one has posted on LSN that they've been accepted from the waitlist yet.dclaw2015 wrote:I amany news on WL?

Thanks for update guys. I was accepted of AU's waitlist but declined- they didnt offer any scholly and I am not ready for 30+ thousand loan a year- Catholic is affordable I guess in that regard. I applied for PT program only at CUA
