Mine never went "under review" either. It just changed from "complete, ready for review" to "decision letter mailed" a couple of weeks ago.MichNole19 wrote:Anyone else's status change to Decision letter mailed?
My application never went "under review" straight from ready for review to Decision Letter Mailed.

Yea. It was weird but they asked for hours worked/week on the resume. They probably want to see how you balance work and school.

I personally am an OOS, but my friend is in-state and he got admitted the same day I did - 11/21. Both of us applied really early, though (September/early October).kmokeefe wrote:Are there ANY in-staters here who have gotten a decision yet? I haven't seen any on LSN.

I'm in!
Received letter via snail mail today. I'm actually fairly excited about this one since I have a 161 and looow GPA. I'd also love to be in SC, which might be possible if I get some $$. I'm out of state, app was complete in Oct.

How long did it take you all and how did you find out about the decision?
I only submitted a little over a week ago and only went complete a few days ago, so I'm not expecting anything soon. I know they read every piece of your application, but I'm just curious as to how long it takes.
Update: Decision letter mailed. Hope it comes in soon!

For those of you who got in, did your scholarship information come in with your admission packet?

Time to bump this thread. I'm thinking about taking a trip to Columbia during the second week of January to check out the school and the area. I'm a little worried about being a Northerner in South Carolina, is this a legitimate concern? I mean, I lived in South Florida for 4 years, but that's hardly the South. I've lived in downtown Cleveland for years now, so I'm just wondering if it will be a hard change to make, or if I'll always be considered an outsider? If anyone can speak to this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I grew up in south carolina--most people will not care. However, I will say this: South Carolina is the most insular legal market in the country. If you aren't from SC, I really cannot endorse going there. The school for the most part is only capable of getting you a job in South Carolina, and going to school there is NOT enough to have the ties you need to get a job in SC. You're wasting your money.OhioRider22 wrote:Time to bump this thread. I'm thinking about taking a trip to Columbia during the second week of January to check out the school and the area. This is basically what I'm worried about. I love the state of South Carolina, and definitely the weather, but this scares me. If I go, I would definitely plan on staying in the state long term. I've heard that the market is dominated by South Carolina grads, but I wondered if attending the school was enough to have the necessary ties to secure a job in South Carolina, or if you really actually have to be born and raised there.eandy wrote:I grew up in south carolina--most people will not care. Let me put it this way: It can be done, but it is very difficult. Going to school there is probably not going to work unless you have really, really good grades (which you have about a 10% shot of achieving).OhioRider22 wrote:This is basically what I'm worried about. I'm from SC, and I went to UGA. Employers from SC frown upon THAT. SC is just a tough market.
