Hi everyone.

I just got the call from the admissions lady today. I applied Nov. 3 so this was a pretty quick process for me. She told me my packet of information should arrive sometime this following week.

For all who are curious: 3.52 GPA, 164 LSAT

Has anyone around those numbers received any scholarship money?

I'm not sure what I'll do if UF accepts me as well. That would be a pretty tough decision. I'm a USF grad and I've spent all of my life in Polk County (lol). I don't have any family ties to either place.

Also, I never was e-mailed a status checker -- only place that hasn't happened. It doesn't bother me now obviously, but I was definitely not anticipating hearing from them so soon.

I haven't heard anything about scholarships either (3.02/168), but the admissions packet says they should mail info later.

I never received a status checker. I applied 10/27.

I received a phone call today with an acceptance though. 165/3.7

In this mail packet that we're supposed to get this coming week it'll tell us the deadlines for accepting the admissions offer, right? I'm kind of curious on the timetable for that.

Hey, maybe I can help with some quick questions that I've seen:

1. Status checkers - you're supposed to get one, so if you haven't after a week or so, I'd say you can call the admissions office and ask.
2. When decision reached on checker - If you are in, you will get a phone call.
3. Scholarships - for the first wave of acceptances, the scholarship application should be sometime soon. I received my scholarship offer near the end of December. Also, don't quote me on this, but FSU has in the past refrained from putting GPA stips on their scholarships, which is pretty awesome and takes some pressure off.
4. Acceptance of offer - It's been April 1st in years past, for accepting both scholarships and putting down a one time ($200) seat deposit. It's not binding, however.

minuit, thanks for the info. does fsu generally put class rank stips on their scholarships? also, how difficult is it for out of state people to qualify for instate tuition after your first year? if you have any experience that is.....

They do not put class rank stips on their scholarships. I just checked my scholly letter, and it doesn't mention anything about stips at all. So I am pretty sure you keep your scholarship as long as you don't fail out (and I've talked to several other people with scholarships, who also told me that theirs do not have stips). It's also not difficult to qualify for instate after your first year, tons of people do this. Basically, you need to have everything in place one FULL year before the start of your 2nd year, so move to Tally in early August and get everything figured out, and you'll be okay.

Well they review applications based on strength. So depending on where you stand relative to their numbers, that may explain it.

It means they are reviewing your application and you will probably know sometime early next week. They will give you a phone call if you are accepted. Good luck!

They move quickly this thread is full of people already accepted. I believe they evaluate in an order based on strength of applications.

Yeah, plenty of people here have been accepted already. Murray's been accepted for a while. I went complete Nov. 3 and got the call that I was accepted a week later.

FSU is the only school I've had contact me this quickly about an admissions decision. I guess they're just fairly fast.
