Literally on pins and needles all weekend. Was hoping to hear this morning, but sure enough, nothing.
Here's to hoping for some type of development soon.

Status checker says something was mailed today and a couple of days ago! Does anyone's status checker say the same thing? I'm so nervous and excited!

I got in towards the end of November and still haven't heard anything regarding scholarships. Does anyone know when that news is usually sent out?

Last year, it looks like they started to send scholarships out in mid/end of Jan. They apparently mailed me something, but they didn't say what. Fingers crossed!!!

Some of the scholarchip letters are starting to come out, but they don't seem to be throwing much money out yet.. lawschoolnumbers has 3 people's $ offers up and they all got $15,000 over the 3 years. sounds nice, but really is less than 1/3 of what tuition & fees cost.

Re: University of Tennessee applying for fall 2012
Just received a phone call from UT offering admission and encouraging me to apply for resident status since I'm military. No scholarships mentioned and I doubt they'll offer, but the lady said the acceptance letter is in the mail.

Been in "Review" since 11/14. Makes me think this will be a ding from them. Wish they would just make a decision. I emailed them and asked (since it had been over two months of review) about my status. The response was that the committee was still reviewing my application and couldn't give me an approximate date of decision. So, on goes the wait.

I did last year, then went somewhere else.texag1979 wrote:Anybody pick UTK over FSU? What made the difference?
Knoxville/ East Tennessee / >>> Tally/ F. Panhandle
The things you could do within a three hour drive of Knox were ten times better than from Tally. Plus, the drive would be very pretty. Better part of the country...
Also, I liked the campus of UTK much better. Have you toured FSU law? I did and it kinda sucked. Its like they kept adding on and now nothing makes sense. UTK law was really nice, and it seemed like the town / campus , while kinda dirty just like Tally, was a little bit more fun.
Finally, I decided I'd rather work in Nash, Chatt, or Knox then Tally, Orlando, Jacksonville. The only place I really liked in Florida was Tampa, and I thought the odds weren't great that I would get my best offer there anyway. Hell, I'd even work in Memphis over every florida city with the exception of Tampa.
Met students in both locals and everyone was really nice. Both staffs were really professional (although UTK did have some issues with the admitted students day last year)
Good luck

Accepted today via regular mail. Got a nice orange folder, lol. No scholarship decisions were made the letter said. Any idea when that is going to happen?

Thanks for the perspective. The wife and I toured FSU in Oct and will tour UTK next week. What type of job are you looking for, if you don't mind me asking? I'm leaning toward prosecuting, and both schools seem fine for that from what I understand. Are you from either state? Again, 'preciate the info.Lord Randolph McDuff wrote:I did last year, then went somewhere else.texag1979 wrote:Anybody pick UTK over FSU? What made the difference?

Got the nice orange folder too then scholarship letter the next day I think. They only offered me $1500 a year so not much of an offer for me, but I'm in state so it would still be cheap.givemea170 wrote:Accepted today via regular mail. Got a nice orange folder, lol. I'm a recent FSU Graduate and have lived in Tallahassee for the last 6 years but I grew up about an hour northeast of Knoxville, TN. I have been accepted to UTK Law but not FSU yet (161, 3.44). They are fairly equal law schools but Knoxville is a more beautifull city. Tallahassee is nice, especially for partying undergrads, but Knoxville is more professional. There is a lot to do in both areas for outdoorsy people. Both are great choices and are really what you are willing to make of them.

Re: University of Tennessee applying for fall 2012
Thanks.
I visited Knoxville and I really like it. The law school is a decent distance away from undergrad builidngs (though it is right next to sorority/frat offices
). Knoxville has the pleasures of living in an urban area without the burden of heavy traffic and whatnot. And if you have to walk, you'll probably have amazing calfs because there are so many hills.

Yeah Knoxville is a nice place to go to school. Nothing like gameday at Neyland Stadium either. However I'm still hoping to hear something soon from FSU. I have been complete since November 16th and haven't even been reviewed yet. It makes no sense to me.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
