Yep. I don't know when though. I live about 45 min away so whenever the students start up again, I'll go.
I visited in July. I like the campus. Its small, but nice, and its like footsteps away from the courthouse law firms, etc.

No clue because I'm living in the suburbs outside of ATL. But I'm pretty sure there is plenty of housing near the university.

I submitted on 10/17. It said complete and ready for review for the longest time, and then I got accepted a few days ago.
They officially don't start reviewing until Jan. 1.

To the guy asking about housing near the school - it's not great. The school is in downtown Atlanta, where you have no reason to go unless you're at GA State/Grady Hospital or working down there. Otherwise it's pretty nasty. Most students live in Midtown, Buckhead or Druid Hills areas. Look for somewhere inside the perimeter close to a MARTA station so you can commute that way and avoid traffic.

My application status went complete and ready for review on the 29th of November. The status still says that but the date updated to today's date. I wonder what this could mean?

Mine says accepted as of DEc 9...and on my list of mailings (Dec 12) I see multiple mailings including
"ALS Fellows Invite Letter"
Shall I get my hopes up for a scholarship???

I'm from the Atlanta area, and I can assure you that paying to go to this school is a bad investment, even if your ambitions are local.

I'm thinking about applying -- my partner's family is in Atlanta, and it'd be nice to be close. We're wavering between Atlanta and Virginia, and I realized this afternoon that I really only have one Atlanta option.
I'm wondering if I'd get money (166/3.22) and what the job situation is for graduates. I'm hoping to get into Emory, but I'm not sure that I'd want to go and pay sticker. I got into UGA, but there's no job market in Athens for my SO.

I'm definately not an expert, but I'm almost positive that UGA has pull in Atlanta, not just Athens. UGA is the school that everyone in Georgia has heard of and even though you might be too far away to have internships in Atlanta, I think your job prospects are very good.

Oh, I know it does well in ATL, but I'm concerned about the 3 years we'd have to spend in Athens while I'm in school. She'd have to have something to do, you know? And there's really nothing there except the school.cutecarmel wrote:I'm definately not an expert, but I'm almost positive that UGA has pull in Atlanta, not just Athens. I received my acceptance letter in the mail today, no scholarship info yet. Has anyone heard about scholarships yet?

No scholarship info, but there was an application enclosed for the Atlanta Law School Fellows program, which is, in part, need-based. The website says admitted students are automatically considered for other scholarship and waivers, but no indication of timeline or whether or not completing an app for ALSF affects it.powerscore wrote:I received my acceptance letter in the mail today, no scholarship info yet. I don't think I fall under the eligibility for need-based aid, but I would like to know what else may be available.

Admissions says they won't start reviewing for scholarships until the new year.

Did you check your status anyways? Mine was approved and I didn't receive and email for almost 12 hours after I noticed it accepted.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
