Re: UNC 2011 Waitlist
Hey guys, I have been reading this thread for some time, but this is my first post. I had no idea how many people were on the waitlist.. a lot more than I expected. I was told before I took the LSAT in Feb. by those who had applied to UNC in the past that I would definitely get in with a 159 and 3.5 if I was in-state. Well I got a 159, 3.4 and am in-state? Chances of getting off the waitlist?

Re: UNC 2011 Waitlist
I don't think anyone can answer that for you. I have a higher LSAT than you do and am considering it a very long shot to get off the waitlist. I would suggest you plan on it not happening.GIBBS757 wrote:Hey guys, I have been reading this thread for some time, but this is my first post. Understood, no one can answer that with any assurance. Care to share your LSAT, GPA, and state status? That would be helpful to gauge against.

So just an after thought. Wonder why he called you? Do they call all people accepted off the waitlist or did you have any special circumstances?

Re: UNC 2011 Waitlist
That's a good question-- my understanding is that they typically do call everyone, because they prefer an immediate "yes/no" that they might not be able to get over email and certainly aren't able to get through snail mail. There's also the matter of admitting a balanced class-- presumably, someone with my demographics either withdrew or failed to pay a deposit, so they went to that list of folks and started calling. I hope to see some more admits on this thread soon!
