Considering how Irvine isn't yet truly predictable but it's previous numbers give a pretty idea, it's safe to say that I was a total DENY. Which is why that congratulatory phone call was a huge surprise...

Deny - Upenn
3.3-3.4 gpa, 170 LSAT. non-URM.
Nothing special in my application, and I noticed a typo in my essay after I was accepted. Waitlisted everywhere from UVA/UMich all the way through Vanderbilt.

166, 3.35 = Deny for University of Texas, got in. I was especially shocked because people on TLS say that they have a strict GPA floor. I am out of state too. Non-URM.

Posts like these makes me wish I was a little bolder in where I applied.
Application fees were already getting out of control...still, wish I applied to Berkeley, however much of a long shot it was.

If it makes you feel better, I was a DENY at Berkeley (7%) and didn't get in.jwmalone87 wrote:Posts like these makes me wish I was a little bolder in where I applied.

If you are URM I would think it would be a good idea to note that. Don't want to give non URM people false hope....

This is actually a crazy acceptance. Below or perhaps right at GPA floor plus under median LSAT. Seems like this would only be possible for in-state or URM. Would love to read your PS. Congrats.

This thread is just going to be full of splitters and reverse splitters because that is what LSP can't handle. It says splitters they have a shot at UT even though texas is known for having a strict GPA floor, and (as has been shown here) says people will be denied at Emory with 167's and WashU with 168's, both of which are above or at their respective GPA floors.

This is true, but it's nice to have a reminder that LSP and people's predictions aren't always reliable, especially when it comes to splitters, reverse splitters, and URM (and if you happen to be a combination of two of those, it's even worse). It's nice to have a reminder that you still may have a chance, I think.sanetruth wrote:This thread is just going to be full of splitters and reverse splitters because that is what LSP can't handle. Man I'm pretty jealous, I have a similar GPA, 167 lsat, OOS non-URM and I reallllllly wanted Texas. Thought the quality of my undergrad (top 10 overall) and the fact that I was a varsity athlete with good internships and LORs would help, but I got straight up denied.iShotFirst wrote:166, 3.35 = Deny for University of Texas, got in. Re: You were considered a"Deny" by LSP but actually got in!!!
I've lived abroad for much of my life in some pretty diverse places, and for some strange and out-of-the-ordinary reasons, but not in any prestigious capacity. My PS concerned my life in one of those places, a developing Muslim country.
I went to a pretty weak/ridiculed undergrad university too.
The funny thing is I had not idea how out of the ordinary this was at the time until I spent more time on TLS and I actually didnt end up going there but after finding out how crazy that is I almost wish I did just for that reason!

Interesting, you definitely deserve a congratulations. It seems like UT is being incredibly selective this year, your unique experience must've really caught their attention.

LSP has me as a deny at Emory and a weak consider at Georgia but I got into both. Honestly I wasn't too surprised though.

Most URM's don't receive that kind of bump, so I imagine your app was quite impressive (fellow URM). Congrats!!!
