I got waitlisted on Friday... they put me on the "preferred waitlist" and beyond that...
"The Committee has designated you as part of a small select group within the Preferred Waiting List that will be given priority as spaces open up in the entering class."
Last year, people speculated that it was the same thing as a hold, so maybe I belong in this thread.

some of us got an email in mid-december saying our applications had been "held" until later in the cycle
a few people have since had status updates, some haven't, and so far i haven't heard of any further decisions from the held group

Goodness, this is making it difficult for me to gauge my chances of getting in. I should definitely send in a LOCI and perhaps also an additional LOR...
sigh. More work for me.
Oh yeah, my stats are 170/3.76 (in a science major, if that means anything) and I applied early January, in case this is helpful to anyone.

well i'm 170/2.94 so perhaps preferred waitlist is better territory than held

Best of luck! It's ok, we all know that the engineering majors have it the hardest...

my gpa now (between two schools) is something like 3.6 or 3.7 probably

Whoa, I had two status updates in one week! I had a status change on 2/7 and then on 2/11 (was notified of a hold in late December). I'm not even sure if there was a status update in between. I think I remember reading somewhere that people were wondering if this happens if you go before a committee or something. Any thoughts?

I've updated 2/8 --> 2/11 --> 2/16 but I don't have any insight nor positive thoughts as to why so often.

I also just had that status update to 2/16 after 2/7 and 2/11. Looks like we're in the same boat. I can't generate a username and password.

So last year there were no acceptances on TLC ....just rejections and waitlists. Hope this year is different for all of you:)

I agree and maybe some people were accepted that didn't report it on TLS.

A lot of the hold-->waitlisters ended up going to GULC, looking at their profiles. They weren't all on the super preferred or preferred waitlists, either.

It is great that people were eventually admitted but the point is not to have great expectations now for an acceptance. Last year people seemed really upset that no one was reporting an acceptance, which I can undersatand. I can't believe they didn't accept anyone because I don't know what the point of the hold was then. I would guess that there were some unreported acceptances. Hope things are different this year for anyone on hold

Updated to 2/18 today. No ding/waitlist email, but no ASW access either.
Edit: Was put on the regular waitlist last week.

Got a decision on my hold yesterday. I was put on the waitlist. Georgetown alum with a 162 LSAT and 3.85 GPA. I thought I would get on the Preferred Waitlist... I mean, if I had applied directly from undergrad through their early assurance program, I could have gotten in with a 3.85 GPA. Oh well...

Still stuck at 12/23, which is when I was held. I wonder what that means considering decisions have to come out in the next week.
