I'm from Arkansas so its my safety school, but did the Assistant Dean of Admissions call anyone else over the break? definitely called me and caught me super off guard.
He seemed really nice, though. We talked forever after I got the grog out.

Thank you. I berely made the index too and wasn't sure what to expect.Lullyn wrote:They don't have a status checker that I know of. I called them right at two weeks after applying and they said they mailed my letter and that it was good. I barely made it into their admissions index. I did visit the school and took a tour before applying, but they didn't make it sound rigid. The only mitigating factor would be that I applied in November.jaymaynard wrote:Does Arkansas have a status checker? In going through my emails I noticed that they are the only school that I did not receive one from, which is mildly concerning.
Also, does anyone know how rigid that admissions index is? If I'm over the threshold, can I pretty much expect admission?
Thanks wamaxey! I guess I'll just have to call them and see if there is any way to negotiate a waiver, though my lsat scores weren't very impressive.
I got a pretty hefty scholarship at UALR though and I hear they have pretty similar regional reputations.

8k/year isn't bad... Tuition is just over $11k once you are a resident (6 months after moving). If you move before June, you'll qualify for residency for the spring term.jaymaynard wrote:Just got in plus 8k/yr. Doubt it'll be enough to entice me

still waiting on it. I hate how they don't have even email you or anything to acknowledge receipt of your app, I sent the non index form a couple weeks ago and am kind of wondering.pionner3615 wrote:Anyone that was not admitted based on the index, who wanted to be considered based on PS, resume and ref letters, been admitted yet?

I'll take it....though my average LSAT/GPA leave something to be desired in the way of merit aid.Deathcab wrote:in w/ the $8k OOS scholy on with 3.5/162... not enough $$ though so I will likely withdrawal soon -- hope my spot goes to someone else on here.

Re: U of Arkansas (Fayetteville) 2011
Went to the U of A for undergrad, so I'm more than willing to answer any questions about the campus/community! I absolutely loved my time there. Fayetteville is the quintessential college town, is very affordable (I live in DC now, so..) and has a lot of spunk. The U of A also has a strong alumni network in the Northeast/mid-Atlantic (especially for a southern state school), even here in DC. Athletics are huge at the U of A, so if you are a sports fan, you won't be left wanting. The Ozarks and the campus are breathtaking, and if you are a person who loves to be outdoors, Fayetteville is a great choice.
Anyway, like I said, I'm free to answer any questions you might have. I won't be attending the law school, but I'm still in love with the place.
Good luck all- and Go Hogs!

Just received my acceptance letter with 50% tuition scholarship in the mail yesterday. So excited to be a Razorback!!! I guess I will ask the question on everyone's minds, how do we get tickets for football season?
Also is there an admitted students weekend? I will be looking for roommates for next year, and I was hoping there was one planned so I could meet some fellow classmates.

Sent in my supplemental form for non-index a month ago and haven't heard anything. Should I be worried or is this normal?

Did they give you a top 20% stip for the 2nd and 3rd year?Neidermeyer519 wrote:In with 8K first year, 5k for the last two years after gaining residency.

Seems like everyone gets a top 20% stipulation but at least tuition is 11k given that you have an 80% chance of losing it. Much better than a school with a top 1/3 and 30k plus tuition.

True. That top 20 stip is lame though. Still, it's a pretty attractive option for me as the 8k nullifies most of the difference between OOS and in statempj_3050 wrote:Seems like everyone gets a top 20% stipulation but at least tuition is 11k given that you have an 80% chance of losing it. Re: U of Arkansas (Fayetteville) 2011
Yeah, I believe that stipulation is for everyone. So is this scholarship amount pretty standard? It is a pretty good deal. It actually makes Arkansas cheaper over three years than Louisville, which is where I still think I am going to attend. Has anyone had any success negotiating for more money?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
