Also, the best way to get an idea of the cost of housing in other neighborhoods is DC craigslist. I got the $105 Aston deal too and regardless of the negativity in the other thread, I think it makes GW extremely appealing.

As a splitter (2.9/169) GW was a reach for me but I got in! I got the e mail Thursday. Pretty sure there's not going to be any $ involved but who knows, maybe they'll aggressively pursue raising their LSAT75... but not getting my hopes up or anything.

I'm really excited as it was a reach school and my #2 choice next to GULC. I got 169 in Dec and had sent in an ED to GULC in case I got 17x in December. Pretty sure I'm autoding there now. Still, since I'm doing IP (hard science/engr background) GW us awesome.

Congratz to everyone else!

With the choices I have now it's either GW or Alabama (because of their extreme generosity.) If I can stand 'Bama when I visit maybe I'll go but I'm thinking I'll be GW class of 2014.

So maybe GW isn't for me? But I have a question. The housing stipend is between 15-16k. Can you live for cheaper in the DC area? Anybody know?
Well even if you can, isn't their housing stipend specifically tied to Aston? And if it's only for one year anyway, you can explore other options after your first year.
But yeah, until I got my admit packet I had no idea COA was anywhere near as high in DC as in NYC. I mean, it makes sense, but I never thought they would be equal.
In via email on 1/6. The admitted students site isn't letting me register for some reason. Expecting the packet in the mail tomorrow.

FYI, I got a summer fellowship during UG in D.C. and we were given $4500 for the summer, which by far was not enough. I lived with 2 others (and 1 more for one month). A 2BR apartment was $3300/month. Cheap housing is hard to come by in DC without getting into some shady areas of town.

When WOULD we hear about schollys? If we get any that is.

Also a really important question: for ASW, does GW do travel reimbursements???

Wait really? So nothing in the acceptance packet means no money? Because then GW can basically go fuck itself...

I'll revise that and say I'll have to re-check my envelope at home.

I got in via email a week ago and I still haven't gotten my acceptance packet... (I'm on the west coast.) Now I've started to freak out and think that the email was a mistake or something....

I have already checked and double-checked...but from a very unscientific review of the admitted students it doesnt seem like there was much money given out. Anyone have an idea if more is to come at a later date or what has happened in past years?
I've heard that they're not very generous with their money. It's pretty much a deal breaker for me. :(

Still haven't received my admissions packet, but since I'm in the PNW, this does not surprise me.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
