I apologize if this is out of the scope of the thread, but...
What is the policy with putting in multiple deposits? Is it just one of those things where if you have the money, it'll buy you some extra time? Or are you locking yourself into certain schools by showing an intent to enroll, barring (at the very least, I'm assuming) an acceptance off another school's waitlist? I ask because I could be waiting until May, at the latest, to hear back from a fellowship offer. If I need to request a deferral, this may screw up any merit aid, and so it'd be nice not to be committed to one school for sure.

Happens all the time. Schools expect that to be the case which is why a waitlist exists.

Brunonian -- since you mentioned coming from the NE, does the Stanford stipend depend on where you're coming from? I don't want to get anybody too excited over the prospect of sort-of free $425 haha.

Looks like it's a blanket reimbursement of up to $400 for any coach roundtrip plane ticket to San Francisco or San Jose from anywhere, except that they'll only reimburse up to $200 for tickets from within California. You have to provide receipts and attend "the majority" of ASW events in order to qualify.

I'm working on putting together a calendar to help determine the best travel dates for the schools that I applied to, as there is a lot of overlap, particularly between the top schools. I'm having trouble locating dates for a few, could someone please help me out with the following schools:

Vanderbilt Admitted Students Programs

Dates: March 25 and April 8th
Both are full day Friday programs, thus they recommend arriving Thursday.

Reimbursement: "We can normally reimburse reasonable transportation expenses (typical coach airfare or mileage by car) and some lodging expenses provided that you contact the Admissions Office for pre-approval...Reimbursements to admitted students who visit without obtaining prior approval are limited to transportation-only expenses up to $200.00."
