Don't know, but remember that they are starting to get a lot more applications. Also, the status checker seems to be really slow; I was accepted and got the letter while the status checker still said application complete. Best of luck though, hopefully they let you know soon. I am just waiting to see what the other schools on my cycle will do.swilson215 wrote:Applied and went complete on 11/4, in review on 11/29. Review doesn't last too long, does it?

How did you find out you were first accepted? Email? or the letter?mpj_3050 wrote:Don't know, but remember that they are starting to get a lot more applications. As for the acceptance, I received a letter and packet in September. I think someone mentioned that they call in-state people and mail letters to non-residents. On their website they say that a candidate should specifically discuss why they are interested in the school/area if they are a non-resident. If you are a non-resident I would definitely tell them why you are applying - hopefully results in a quicker decision.Barbie wrote:How did you find out you were first accepted? Did you get any emails from the adm office? I just got an email saying "correspondence has been mailed," so I figure it's not a good sign.Barbie wrote:In via large packet. No I didn't get anything at all. I don't even think my status checker has changed, still!db25 wrote:Did you get any emails from the adm office? I got one of these too, and at first I also thought it wasn't a good sign. But to me it sounded like a temporary/transitional thing (since the email talked about someone retiring), and when you look at LSN their rejections haven't (in the past) come out before mid-January at the earliest, usually mid-March. I think this one might be 50/50. Keep me posted! I'll be on pins and needles.db25 wrote:Did you get any emails from the adm office? I got the same email about someone retiring. At first I thought the whole "correspondance in the mail" thing was a bad sign but who knows...I'm on the fringe or their numbers so I'm a little worried but you guys should get in no problem. Best of luck!

Guess that's me. They must have mailed it last week some time. Well, sorry for the false hope...dinged at Ole Miss via mail today. Have to say I'm a little surprised, but I am out-of-state and didn't submit a "Why Ole Miss" addendum or anything...who knows. Not too worried, though, it wasn't a top choice or anything.swilson215 wrote:First one to get their mail has to post.JDLaf wrote:I got the same email about someone retiring. same here...except it wasn't a "surprise". I thought I might sneak in but that wasn't the case. A little disappointed but oh well.

I've been in review for almost 3 months now.... Should I contact them and ask what the hold up is or should I just wait patiently?

Applied 12/1. Got an email last week asking to send a final transcript so it'll be a while before I get a decision. I had to take my last UG class in the fall and got an A. I've got my fingers crossed. If I don't get into Tennessee (and I probably won't), Ole Miss is where I want to go. I'd guess that my chances are around 50/50, maybe 60/40. 160/3.0

My application checker now states "Your application is in pre-evaluation." What is that?

Re: Ole Miss Applicants c/o 2014
I got an email from the admissions officer saying I should consider ole miss, and when I replied back that I was out of funds for applications they sent me a fee waiver, so I applied. lol. 159 LSAT and 3.49 (3.75 gpa). out of state, really only applied to see about scholarship money. I have a BA in history and a BS in biology and am former military. I have a friend that goes there as a 1L and loves it, so I'm definitely considering.
