App received 11/10, Ready for review 11/19. Maybe a little late, but I've got high hopes - and check this one way too often.
Anyone planning on applying for the Gates public service law program?

Damn, why is mine taking so long to be "ready for review"? Thanks for letting us know, maybe I should follow up at some point soon.deja wrote:App received 11/10, Ready for review 11/19. Maybe a little late, but I've got high hopes - and check this one way too often.

One of the people associated with admissions told me at a school visit that they could start as soon as late November, but I don't really have anything official to back this up. Either way, it keeps me checking regularlyJakeL wrote:I really wish they started looking at apps before January...

Let you me join in this quest fellow UW applicants. I think I have a good shot w/ my numbers/residency status. However, I don't like the fact that UW averages the LSAT score ;/.

E-mailed for a fee waiver 11/11. No reply.
Just went ahead and sent in app anyway 11/19. No confirmation or anything.
Anybody else experience this? Definitely one of my top choices too.

Anyone else still waiting for their CAS reports to be received buy UW? I had my app in on 11/14 and the status checker was last updated on 11/15 as "Awaiting CAS report". This seems to be happening to more than one person just looking at the above posts.
So, has anyone called yet and asked what gives?

Submitted 11/8 and still have the same status. I was going to call next week before I leave for an extended vacation.djjf39 wrote:Anyone else still waiting for their CAS reports to be received buy UW? I e-mailed them over a week ago about a fee waiver and they never got back to me. I figure they must be busier because of the holiday, so I'm going to wait a little while longer before submitting. Maybe they just stopped giving fee waivers :-/Dirk Lang wrote:E-mailed for a fee waiver 11/11. No reply.

Sorry if this isn't the right place for this question, but did any of you submit a DS in addition to a PS? In the prompt they seem pretty into diversity factors, and I've got some interesting ones that I couldn't really work into my PS. The shortest version of my PS is 817 words right now and my DS is about 350 words, so I'm debating whether I should cut down my PS and send it by itself, cut down the PS and send it along with a DS (which they do not ask for but they also don't say NOT to submit addendum), or just send my DS. Anyone else have any experience with this?

I sent in an e-mail requesting a fee waiver and got a positive response 17 days later. I had already submitted and didn't ask for a refund, but for what it's worth they did get back to me.RTFM wrote:I e-mailed them over a week ago about a fee waiver and they never got back to me. Did anyone else notice the median GPA fell to 3.65 for the entering class of 2010?

I called about mine a little bit ago. My status had gone from "Complete" to "Awaiting CAS report" so I called to ask about what happened. Somehow one of my letters of recommendation got separated from the other so they thought I only had one. But the woman on the phone was very nice and helpful and fixed it for me.bdubs wrote:Submitted 11/8 and still have the same status. Does it seem ridiculous to anyone else that it takes 17/18 days to get a fee waiver? Is it really that hard of a decision?

Yeah, considering the relative speed with which I heard back from other schools. They can't be that backed up/under-staffed.LeDique wrote:Does it seem ridiculous to anyone else that it takes 17/18 days to get a fee waiver? Is it really that hard of a decision?

I think this depends on whose attention you catch when. I e-mailed them a request, received a reply the same day requesting additional information, and then got the fee waiver a few hours later. At that time the dean of admissions was out of town for an LSAC forum and one of his staff was responding to e-mails, perhaps that was it.artichoke wrote:Yeah, considering the relative speed with which I heard back from other schools. I kind of have to agree. Good thing it's got some other things going for it (like a gorgeous campus/facilities...)artichoke wrote:Yeah, considering the relative speed with which I heard back from other schools. Re: U Washington 2011 Applicants
I finally went to "Ready for Review" today. I talked to Dean Le at my school's law fair and he said that they send out some acceptances before Christmas every year, but that most come after. I submitted my app on 11/17, so it took 12 days to go to "ready for review" from "Awaiting CAS Report." Thanksgiving holiday probably slowed that down.
I talked to Dean Le for a long time and he had wonderful things to say about UW. It seems like a non-competitive environment in a beautiful place. It seems like they have a really open-minded student body, too.

Re: U Washington 2011 Applicants
Ok, so I called today and the lady said it was entirely normal for someone to be at "Awaiting CAS report" for a long period of time. She said that their application completion process was very manual/slow. She did ask for my name and pulled my file up, checked it, and marked it "Ready for Review" though.firecracker wrote:I called about mine a little bit ago. Good, they've been way-too-hardcore GPA sticklers in the past for me to have a good shot.KevinP wrote:Did anyone else notice the median GPA fell to 3.65 for the entering class of 2010?
