This makes me nervous now. I have been "in review" for over a month with no movement. I felt better thinking Chapman was just a big tease that isn't really looking at apps right now....

I know, me too. I have the numbers to get in, but the fact that I have been in review of over a month now is making me seriously nervous.samfii wrote:Come ON Chapman, you're killin me here.

right?! what's the deal? do they just put is "in review" so we don't bug them about when they'll put us in review or something?lalalawya wrote:I know, me too. Re: Chapman 2011!
for what its worth, if my cycle last year was any indication of what's typical, a month is not long enough to get frustrated. Last year USD kept me waiting for 9 months, loyola for three weeks, baylor for for months, santa clara for three months, UoP about a month and a half and Chapman only a few days.lalalawya wrote:I know, me too. Schools are weird, they each have a strategy and who knows what they're really doing. Hang in there, brace yourselves for a long ride.

So over the break means after new years then?longhornlaw wrote:I talked to Adrianne Jameson in admissions today. She said they usually review over the break, so it'll be just a bit longer. She said they've only sent offers to a very few people, and that the committees were finalized just recently. So, hold on.samfii wrote:right?! what's the deal? do they just put is "in review" so we don't bug them about when they'll put us in review or something?lalalawya wrote:I know, me too. Re: Chapman 2011!
Just realized I haven't introduced myself in this thread yet... I'm a 3L / student ambassador at Chapman, so if anybody has any questions just let me know. This last cycle I met some people on here and then ran into them at admissions events, which was pretty cool. While I'm admittedly and unabashedly biased toward Chapman, I'm not a recruiter and will give you my honest opinion on whatever you want to know.
For those of you stressing about decisions, anybody who has applied will tell you that the admissions process is pretty slow at Chapman (they really do read every file; schools with auto-admit / auto-reject thresholds are much faster). Also, online forums are a self-selecting population of mostly really eager people, so remind yourself that it's still pretty early.

Re: Chapman 2011!
Is anyone else applying to the JD / MFA program?
I already applied to the law school but still have to apply to the MFA program. However, I have a couple questions and the damn film school wont get back to me.

I am applying the the JD/MFA program as well. I have applied to the law school, but am alittle unsure of what I need to do for the film school as well.
I've tried to get in contact with them, but so far I haven't had any luck. From what I read on the website, you apply for the film school during your 1L. I may be wrong though.
The JD/MFA program is my top choice, so I really hope to figure this out soon!

Re: Chapman 2011!
Do you know if you have to take the GRE for the film school? Even if you are applying to the JD/MFA? This seems like a very basic question and the law school had NO idea.
I know if you do the JD/MFA program you do 1L in JD, but I think you still apply to both at the same time

Re: Chapman 2011!
From the Film School....A GRE is not required if your GPA in the last 60 semester or 90 quarter credits of your bachelor’s degree is 3.0 or better. If your GPA is 2.5 to 2.99, then you must submit a GRE score. A minimum score of 490 on the verbal section and 4.5 on the analytical writing section is required.

Re: Chapman 2011!
Congrats on admission to those who received it!
I was just curious what people thought of this idea: Chapman may offer less in schollys this cycle.
I didn't read it anywhere or anything, I was just thinking about it. Considering they've moved up to T2 this year is that a possibility? Last year while in T3 their median grant package was $28,760, maybe using it as incentive to get more "lucrative" students in. So, now that they're moving up in the charts do you think there's any "merit"
to the notion?
