Case 1L/also Case undergrad for any of you who have questions about the Case experience. That said, you probably shouldn't ask me how you can do well at Case, since I haven't taken any finals yet, and hence don't know for sure if any of my study plans are effective.

Somewhere between #5-#10 for me. Being private, it's kind of pricey, which affects its desirability.elaw wrote:Top Choice. How does this rank on everyones list?

This is true...hoping for some scholarship, but its unlikely.TommyK wrote:Somewhere between #5-#10 for me. Being private, it's kind of pricey, which affects its desirability.elaw wrote:Top Choice. How does this rank on everyones list?

Case gives almost everyone a scholarship. I don't know if people are lying or what, but 90% of the people I know have at least some scholarship $. Most people have $10k +. Only problem is that they instated a minimum GPA and the concern is that some of us are bound to lose at least part of our money. But we don't know how many people lose it, as is this is the first year they've done a GPA requirement.Spinozist21 wrote:This is true...hoping for some scholarship, but its unlikely.TommyK wrote:Somewhere between #5-#10 for me. Yeah, Akron does something like that, but they make it so 90% of the recipients lose it after the first year. I hope it's not that harsh. Any details on it?snowpeach06 wrote:Case gives almost everyone a scholarship. I don't know if people are lying or what, but 90% of the people I know have at least some scholarship $. I'd recommend staying away from this status checker. On LSN it looks like no one is really accepted before the beginning of January and I have head from a law prof at Case that it takes them forever to send out decisions.

3.2 to keep the whole thing. You can keep half if you get above a 2.8. And, even if you lose it after your 1L year, you can get it back for your 3L year if you raise your GPA.Spinozist21 wrote:

As for the percentage that loses it, I don't think it's 90%. But, I don't know what the % is.

Re: Case Western Reserve University School of Law 2011
Just did a quick search and found this from another posting. Looks like the curve is 3.2, which means as long as you're in the top half for your 1L, you should be able to keep it - pretty reasonable, I'd say.snowpeach06 wrote:3.2 to keep the whole thing. I PM'd tarheels19 about this awhile back and this was his reply (I haven'ted him if I could post, but I doubt he'd care as it contains no personal information in it):
the first year curve is a 3.2 for core 1L classes (contracts/torts/crim/etc), then i believe goes down to a 3.0 for elective courses... median for 1L's usually hovers around a 3.15-3.2

Yeah, I remember someone telling me you need to be top 40% to keep it. My only issue is that so many people seem to have gotten money. We've guestimated like 75% of folks got something.TommyK wrote:

I'm also being quite paranoid though, because I'm in the "ohh my god, I know nothing, everyone seems smarter than me, I'm going to fail out of law school!" mode.

So I haven't looked at the status checker in a few days so I don't know when it changed but I am very excited. I hope this is a good sign. Did anybody else's status checker change?

I submitted my app on 11/9. On 11/15 I received a confirmation email with a link to the status checker and login information. My status STILL reads as "Eapp Receipt 11/9."
Does anyone else have this problem? It's been three weeks, should I email them to see what the hold up is?
