Checked my status checker today and it said Application Complete - In Review, as it did about a week ago, but the date changed from 11/08 to 11/15. Anyone else have this happen?

I applied 10/01, they received it on 11/01 and was complete on 11/02. I'm still listed as Application Complete - In Review with a status date of 11/4. The suspense is getting suspenseful.

Any of you guys worried about job prospects from this school? The chicago market I heard was down significantly. Are you all planning to go sticker?

I don't get on here much anymore because I'm so damn busy, but I'm currently a 1L at Chicago-Kent, and I absolutely love the school and the students here. I can't say much about the job market or much of anything else really except for the academics. All in all, I love it here.

Thanks for chimming in! I wonder if while I'm anxiously awaiting to hear back, if you wouldn't mind answering some questions about your experience as a 1L at Chicago-Kent.

1. How cut-throat is the environment? Are students friendly? Better yet, what is the friendly student to gunner student ratio?

2. How accessible are the professors? Are there posted office hours that one can easily sign up for and attend? Do the profs stick around a few minutes after class to help answer questions?

3. Are you originally from the Chicago area? If you aren't, how have you adjusted to commuting via train, getting around in the City, etc.

Another 1L at Kent here.

1) Students are generally friendly with the usual mix of overly cut-throat students. What few gunners my section started with have been knocked back to reality.
2) The professors generally stick around after class to answer questions and have always been available to meet with students if you e-mail and schedule an appointment.
3) I'm not originally from the Chicago area but have found commuting to be quite simple.

I was complete on November 5, but the date changed on November 15 - still in review.

A quick check of LSN shows a continued lack of updates. I'm choosing to believe that the admissions office took last week off, but returned today, woozy from an excess of tryptophan, to send out acceptances and full-ride scholarships.

How are job prospects for Chicago-Kent graduates? I know there's competition within Chicago from Northwestern, University of Chicago, Notre Dame, Iowa, Loyola-Chicago, and DePaul...but how are Kent grads stacking up against them?

Not great right now, just like DePaul and Loyola. For biglaw especially, you have to be very highly ranked in your class to compete with the T14's. The hope is that the next 3-4 years will see an upswing in employment and T2's will get to see some jobs again.

When you go for internships or job interviews, do you feel like you have an advantage over Loyola and/or DePaul or do potential employers tend to lump all three schools together in terms of educational quality and rankings?

I'm just a 0L (not even accepted yet), but my understanding of the Chicago hiring scene is that the three are generally regarded more or less equally, barring any firm's personal ties to one of the schools.
