correct. you need to mail in your payment/fee waiver (or I think you can pay it online through the UNC website... not sure because I have to mail mine)

Speaking as someone who applied last year and got in, hunker down for a long wait. I am pretty sure the first people didn't hear anything till December last year. Also, they are VERY sporadic and slow. I know some people that didn't hear back till early summer.

This is so very true. I was one of the ones who got in around Christmas, but some folks who applied before me didn't hear until March/April and still got in. Just be prepared for a good long wait. Don't flip out when other schools are sending acceptances and UNC isn't even sending an email confirming that your application has been received or is complete. It's the norm.

Good to know I will be in for a long wait. I would love to end up at UNC. I am applying early though as I'm out-of-state and I know there are definitely less seats for us non-residents.

I am going to go visit the school in November. I am excited. I just need to finish up my Why UNC essay and then I'm good to go.

I applied last week and UNC is probably my top choice but I'm not going to get my hopes up. From what I can tell a 3.7/160 out of state is an automatic waitlist

Happy to have submitted my (re)application! UNC was the last school I heard from last cycle, so their ding especially hurt. I went there for undergrad and totally love everything about Carolina.

finally mailed in my fee waiver today. I hope this doesnt put me way back, since I applied a while ago I did get the "file complete" email though...

Went and visited the law school today. The law school building was smaller than I expected, but everyone in the admissions office that I talked to was very friendly.

I also sat in on a property law class. They happened to be talking about what I did for my research paper - easements so at least I could follow some of what the professor was talking about. Very interesting, but then again I'm highly interested in property law seeing as I do housing policy for work now.

Depends on a few things:
1. How low??
2. Are you a NC resident?
3. Are you an URM?

Sorry, but no chance with a sub 150 LSAT. UNC has a big preference for in-state, so that makes it tough on us OOSer's as it is and with the LSAT there just isn't any chance. Their 25ths last year were 3.43 and 157.

Complete on 11/08. Spoke with the Assistant Dean of Admissions at a law school fair. He said that they will start reviewing their first batch in the last weeks of Nov and sending out some but not all responses to those by Christmas. And that if you submitted it by the Nov time and don't get a response by Dec. to not be worried as it is a positive thing that you are still being considered.

They send an e-mail telling you that's your status. (At least that's what happened last year.)

Yeah I got that October 25th, but it says we will be getting another email saying they recieved all of our documents needed for review and I never got that one.,,

On the LSAC website, they admitted 5 of 28 people with a LSAT between 145 and 149 with a 3.5 to 3.74 GPA. It doesn't say if they were out of state or not...but it isn't impossible. Good luck! I'm glad you are pursuing your dream. http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/p ... &p=3609341#

Thanks. It's a toss-up between Wake and UNC. If everything else was equal, I would choose UNC. If Wake admits me and offers a good scholarship, I will probably lean that way. Really just depends, but I would love to end up in North Carolina, for sure.
