Look, don't hate me for being the grammar police, but if your post is a reflection of your spelling and grammar, you need to have someone look over your application. For instance, address your use of "to" when you mean "too." I don't know if that was the problem, but it certainly couldn't help. Your numbers were better than mine, so I also tend to think there was a problem you missed.

What adversity has OP overcome? What self-reflection has he engaged in? What's his passion, and why is it different than all the other millions of psych students who end up applying with experience in a lab.

There's no way to know for sure, but a poisonous LOR or problem in your PS seem most likely.uzgunum wrote: Any thoughts?
Was I aiming to high? Or did I just apply to late? Is it because I'm still in undergrad?
Also, do you guys think I have a shot of getting off any WL?
If I apply really early next cycle will my chances be improved?
Do you fell like you exhausted your abilities on the LSAT with this score? IE, you did very in-depth prep, took dozens of timed PTs, did the bibles forwards and backwards, extensive targeted review, extra prep for stamina?
If not, retake.
Regardless, reapply as early as possible next year with a new personal statement, and new letters of recommendation if possible.
Spend some time in the personal statement forum, and read up on the perils of applying with a personal statement that is oriented toward your devotion to the public interest without significant work and/or life experience to back up your stated interest.

I'll be the first to say it...
ED UVA Sept. 15 (or whenever the first day is) next cylce.
With a 3.85 you should be good.

While earlier apps are of course better by a large margin, there has to be something larger at work for someone with these kinds of numbers to get WL'ed at some of those schools.prezidentv8 wrote:I buy this.d34dluk3 wrote:This is just one more piece of evidence that early application=win.uzgunum wrote:I sent out all my applications Jan 2nd.

agree that Jan 1 application date has nothing to do with OP's disastrous cycle. I got into cardozo with $$, applying later, with WAY lower numbers.

I had similar LSAT plus tottery GPA caused by grade deflation (my grades were still good enough to qualify for honors, which I mentioned in resume attachments. They just weren't 3.bk187 wrote:While earlier apps are of course better by a large margin, there has to be something larger at work for someone with these kinds of numbers to get WL'ed at some of those schools.prezidentv8 wrote:I buy this.d34dluk3 wrote:This is just one more piece of evidence that early application=win.uzgunum wrote:I sent out all my applications Jan 2nd.

I almost critical failed my cycle with over 9000 waitlists and an equal number of rejections.
I'm thinking this year was satan for many unfortunate people for no particular reason. OP, don't be convinced that you made a major flub up, because I know for sure I had no nasty LORs, am not hiding a criminal background, and had a second opinion on my PS from a reliable grammar/sensibility checker. I also know I didn't offend all law schools irreparably because I was saved recently by rescue from (more than one) waitlist.
I also applied in January, although a bit later. Maybe there really is something to be said for applying before New Years.

Re: Really Confused - Need advice
The only thing that bugs me about this thread is the crazy CC remarks some people made. Since when does attending CC for two years of your undergrad negatively effect your numbers in ANY way? I imagine that's just a myth from people that don't know any better... please tell me I'm right. (Meaning: I went to CC for the first two years and killed it, as in 4.0. Please don't tell me that was in vain).
