Stats are 175/3.94. I did not write a Why Duke Essay.
I got an acceptance email yesterday!
Based on what happened to others here I would expect a PR list response. Perhaps they flipped a coin and I got in?
Or, maybe, the crazy fears of an ultra-competitive pool are coming true, and your 175/3.94 was the only thing that mattered.
Oh, noes, I'm doomed!

175/3.65 PT app --> PR
This is the first school I've heard back from so, like some other people in this thread, I'm freaking out about what it could mean for the rest of my applications. Didn't write a Why Duke essay...

I submitted a non-PT application and was put on priority reserve. I sent in a LOCI which also officially "accepted" my spot on the PR list, and I was offered admission a week later.
My stats are below others in this forum. I think it definitely helps to show Duke why you are interested in attending.

How did you send in the LOCI (email or snail mail) and who did you address it to?

Email as attachment followed by hard copy (signed) snail mail. Sent email to address that notified me of my application status and addressed letter to the Dean.

I wish!
Writing another LOCI this weekend...
Are you writing another full blown LOCI, or just a brief email to the school letting them know you are still interested? Just curious as I haven't contacted the school since sending my original LOCI shortly after being placed on PR. Is it common for people to send multiple LOCI's?

I have pretty much the same stats as you. I didn't write a "Why Duke" essay because I was very, very drunk when I submitted that application and they solicited additional essays at the bottom of the page in a long paragraph I probably skipped. I applied non-PT and was put on the PR list. Sent in a LOCI with reasons why I'd like to attend Duke. Hope that works but I won't be heartbroken if it doesn't; I'm not sure if Durham's really my style anyway.

Priority Reserve List refers to the first tier of waitlist. It means you are not good enough to be admitted until there happens to be a left over seat, but good enough to be placed ahead of regular waitlist, who are subjects of yield protection and doomed with rejection.

Got the email that I was put on Priority Reserve late last night... as others have expressed this is extremely disheartening as Duke is one of my top choices. Quick question: If a person is selected for admission from the PR list, how does that impact the scholarship picture?

Just got an email notifying me i've been put on the Priority Reserve List. Should I be getting my hopes up? is this the equivalent of a "Hold" at Northwestern or Harvard? or is it just another WL with a better shot?

I'm still on it. Not holding out much hope though, I heard they're fully enrolled.

I am also on the PR list. Duke would be a lot closer to my family if I get off the list, but I am not holding out hope for that to happen. I have also heard that they are fully enrolled. I will probably withdraw soon though if I don't hear back, as I am not willing to drop everything to go to Duke late in the summer.
