Re: Loyola - New Orleans 2010
It's been a while because I applied around early December but I do remember UH and Loyola were the first two schools that got back to me with acceptance news and it was relatively quick. Less than a month from start to finish. I put down my first seat deposit at Loyola already...so I'm 95% sure I'll be attending. Good luck...hope to see you this Fallraperez129 wrote:I applied late, as in a couple of weeks ago. I just got an email that said my file was complete, and decision to follow in 4-6 weeks, but no status checker info? How long did it take for you to get status checker info?

Today, deposits are due at my fallback school. Any last ditch, desperation tactics that I can do today with Loyola to avoid pissing away $250? Damn waitlist.

A call probably wouldn't hurt you, tell them how badly you want it! But, Loyolas deposits are also due today so it might be a busy day.captainmichael wrote:Today, deposits are due at my fallback school. I just tried to contact the admissions officer who I toured the school with during the summer, but she is on medical leave. I was told to talk to another admissions officer (who I had originally talked to about a campus tour last summer and was very rude and unprofessional with me.) I'm not paying my seat deposit today--think that is sufficient to withdraw or is there a form?

That will suffice. That's the whole point of the first seat deposit, to see who is serious.anothernancydrew wrote:I'm not paying my seat deposit today--think that is sufficient to withdraw or is there a form?

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you probably don't have the numbers. I don't know where you are getting your data from, but your 153 lsat is right at their median and not above their 75th percentile. So that leaves you with a median LSAT and a below median GPA. You still have a chance, but your chances aren't great.captainmichael wrote:153 lsat (above their 75% mark)SpencerPratt wrote:What are your #'s? I got WL'd with a 160. Screw them.
3.121 gpa (above their 25% mark)
I need to find out before I send my seat deposit to Mississippi College, and I would like to attend the acceptance day to start meeting my classmates!

I made a typo apparently. It happens.RickyRoe wrote: I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you probably don't have the numbers. The median is a 152 which I am above, and I am above the 25% GPA by a tenth of a point, and the rest of my application is solid. Also, it doesn't hurt that accepted applicants are withdrawing left and right. I like my chances.

Re: Loyola - New Orleans 2010
After I sent my application it took about a week and a half to two weeks to get status checker information. I was accepted on 4/7 but it wasn't up on status checker until the ninth. I received my acceptance letter (no scholly. . eek!) April 19th.
Waiting for Stetson, but Loyola is my second choice, so I'm definitely excited. Side note: Finally! a real thread about this school. Did anyone read the thread about the nutcase with the camera in his pocket? If you haven't, its hilarious.

Accepted a couple days ago. Had a low GPA and average LSAT (2.1 & 156). My graduate degree and military experience must have pushed me through.

I wish they'd accept me off of the waitlist. My nerves are getting bad. April is blowing by at an alarming rate

I'm in by status checker.
Anyone have scholly $$? I too am trying to predict whether I will be awarded any...it's expensive, so I may not be able to go without a little help.

I received an email from Loyola an hour ago asking me to confirm my continued interest in Loyola and remaining on the waitlist. Finally, some correspondence from them!!!!

At ASD they said there was no more scholly $.
But I have also withdrawn which freed up 27K, so maybe you will get some of it! Good luck!
