The financial aid office needs 2015 tax docs, not 2016 right?

Yeah, to clarify I'm doing a dual degree grad program at another university m and my worry is they think I want to stay there for law school (hence "held") so Im asking specific questions about the concurrent degree and "signalling" interest as my negotiations professor would say. My dad also lives down the block and I'm a long bus ride away, so it's a minimal financial investment so not expecting a huge reward out of it. Better to try, though, right?MrJD2020 wrote:Yeah, my mistake 100%. I was thinking of another school.MrJD2020 wrote:Wait, seriously? I doubt they think you want to stay there for law school since you applied to CLS, but yeah maybe it wouldn't hurt to make that clear. I personally am not super comfortable with in-person stuff (even though CLS admissions clearly does have an open-door policy (I mistakenly thought they didn't)) -- but that's probably because the process was nerve-wracking for me in general, and email/phone communication has been slightly less stress-inducing for me.eck456 wrote:Yeah, to clarify I'm doing a dual degree grad program at another university m and my worry is they think I want to stay there for law school (hence "held") so Im asking specific questions about the concurrent degree and "signalling" interest as my negotiations professor would say. yeah, it's a little complicated bc I turned down the masters at columbia last year for the equivalent program, and the school i'm at has a higher ranked law school than cls. but i'd actually probably rather go to cls (or at least be neutral) next year bc of family stuff bringing me towards nyc/ specific professors and projects at cls i'd be interested in. 9/10 chances it makes no difference at all, but I'm a pretty solid in person communicator so i feel like it's a low risk situation. however, i would just in general say to play to your strengths and comforts - i definitely wouldnt suggest forcing yourself into a situation that will be awkward, bc that just won't play well anyway

Anyone else get a minor heart attack when you refresh your inbox and the "Loading..." message stays on the screen 3 seconds longer than usual?

You know I was really trying to look into this program they have but it is greyed out so I can't click on it and the one website I can find on it requires you to log in. How could I get more information on this? Would this be something for an admissions officer?

So how does the reserve list work if I decide to put a deposit down on another school? Am I allowed to do that and still remain in contention for Columbia? If I then get in in the summer, would I just forfeit my deposit?

Yes you can stay on reserve and deposit elsewhere. If you get in, then you most likely lose the money at the other school.JC2017 wrote:So how does the reserve list work if I decide to put a deposit down on another school? Anyone here who interviewed more than two weeks ago and is going NEUROTIC right now seeing all these folks get in without interviews?
I just want to punch myself for thinking that getting an interview invite was a good thing.
Getting in without interview is the best.......
