Been having some serious writer's block, so I decided to take a break from writing essays til the weekend. Apparently my one essay a day goal was short-lived, but hopefully I'll be more efficient with my writing when my brain isn't fried.

I have to ask, what the hell is that thing in your avatar? It's like an anthropomorphic armadillo, beaver combination.

What are everyone's thoughts on writing a Why X when the school doesn't explicitly mention/recommend such an essay? For an example of what I'm talking about, check out NYU's "Supplying Additional Info" section: http://www.law.nyu.edu/jdadmissions/app ... structions

I mean, from that section:

NYU Law wrote:The Committee on Admissions encourages you to provide any information that may be helpful to us in reaching a thoughtful decision on your application. While the choice as to whether and what information to submit to the committee is entirely yours, any information you provide will be used to give you full credit for your accomplishments, to help the committee reach an informed decision on your application, and to aid the committee in selecting a diverse student body.
I think if you have a burning desire to attend NYU then this is them giving you permission to say so.
Fair enough!

Yeah. I did research on every school I'm applying to, and only two really clicked with me. Ultimately, I'd rather not submit a subpar essay.

Numbers-wise, I'm basically in everywhere after V/Penn. My top choices are HYS, Chicago, and Virginia, so I think I'm just going to let everything else go.
