Hey, financial aid question if I can ask that here. I got in recently, and just got a 60k merit award. This is awesome of course, but I also have a 120k offer from Michigan. I'm in at all the other t10 schools minus the top three, but haven't gotten fin aid offers from anyone else yet. Should I try to negotiate with UVA now, or should I wait to hear from other schools? How open do you think they will be to negotiating?

They are open to it now, but it is definitely in your best interests to wait until you know all your options before approaching them.

Ya, the waiting game is brutal. My app might've been an unusual circumstance though if that helps any. I'm a couple points above 75% LSAT and around 50% GPA, I applied early and had no movement until I reached out and showed interest. Because they were looking at my file again and we're close to when FA decisions are going out they may have just decided to give me my offer now. I'd guess more non-named offers are coming soon.

If we're being completely honest, I checked mine too but because anxiety I can't read apparently. But yeah, in comparison with last year's (at least, I'm too lazy to really explore it) we're nowhere near the volume of scholarships (both named and otherwise) that went out. I'd wager they're still going

If we're being completely honest, I checked mine too but because anxiety I can't read apparently. Effect, to the extent they explained the timeline to me? Yes.
Effect, to the extend that I've heard back either way? No.

People will ask - "January and February 2016" are when the "bulk" of scholarship decisions will be reached. I mentioned my standing scholarship offers and they said those would be taken under consideration when they make their decisions.
