Awesome. I feel like that thread wasn't getting the response it deserves.cusenation wrote:Threw in my 2 centsfrancesfarmer wrote:My off-campus interview was legitimately fun.
Slight derailment: if anyone wants to help me convince this kid to study for the LSAT, I think it could count as our mitzvah for the year (and its only January!).

Flew out from California and I agree, totally worth it.JayJones78 wrote: +1
That was one of the reasos I decided to invest $ and head to Chicago for an on-campus interview. I think that it goes into the core of the app and you give them the info they are really looking for when making a decision. Also, I think it shoes real interest. The fact that someone took time and spent money to come to interview, when one is not necessary or promises anything is IMHO a clear indication of interest to attend.

its especially absurd if he's not lying about usually doing so well on standardized tests. he could probably clear 170 with a minimal amount of focused/well directed work.francesfarmer wrote:Awesome. I'd be shocked if there were movement today. I think Friday, or likely next Tuesday more appropriately. Were you hoping that the Jan. 31st deadline sprung them into action?JayJones78 wrote:Similar distance here.mrizza wrote:Flew out from California and I agree, totally worth it.JayJones78 wrote: +1

I'm assuming with how understaffed they seem to be, that they will be doing everything they can to get the AJD decisions out tomorrow. Would be really surprised if they let anyone in today while they're frantically finishing up all the apps. And of course no 3 yr decisions till Tuesday.JayJones78 wrote:Similar distance here.mrizza wrote:Flew out from California and I agree, totally worth it.JayJones78 wrote: +1

Did anyone else interpret their hold letter to mean that we would receive decisions by the end of January, or was that just me?blackie5 wrote:what about the EDERs turned RDERS?!?!

Well.. I guess it's another day in the waiting game. Already 2PM in Chicago and doesn't seem like anyone got news.

Not really. Without going back and reading the letter again, I remember it hinting at that possibility but falling far short of committing to it.boomlawyered wrote:Did anyone else interpret their hold letter to mean that we would receive decisions by the end of January, or was that just me?blackie5 wrote:what about the EDERs turned RDERS?!?!

Question from a held applicant: What optional essays can I still submit? I'm writing a LOCI, but can I still write the two optional essays from the original application?

From your keyboard to NU's/Johann's twitter feed.
Can't wait to wake up tomorrow to a: all AJD decisions are out today tweet.
Oh, I also turned on notifications on my iPhone & iPad for both the admissions' and Johann's twitter feeds

It went OK. Im used to more technical financial interviews so defining a "successful life" gave me pause. Loved the school though and Love how well northwestern places. On flight back to nyc now.
For those whom the on campus interview was last component to go complete: how long after did you go complete and how long until Decision?
Also, there's no way of knowing if you get in without checking your status checker compulsively right?

Yes. If you just check once a day, you will not get accepted. 10x day minimum.az21833 wrote:It went OK. Im used to more technical financial interviews so defining a "successful life" gave me pause. Loved the school though and Love how well northwestern places. On flight back to nyc now.

Felt like a home run, so it was probably a triple. Now I just have to write my LOCI and hope to every possible deity that my app goes from hold to accept.
Sorry if this is a stupid question (I'm pretty much a newbie here)- but what is the sample questions sheet?? I have an interview coming up so I'm just curious. many thanks!

They send an e-mail, that's what I'm waiting for. I've pretty much stopped checking all of status checkers, except for Cornell, since I haven't gone complete there yet.az21833 wrote:It went OK.
