Re: BU! woot.
That is really weird. I hope this doesn't come out wrong but I'm just trying to think of any reason why you wouldn't have received the second email but the email said that it was going out to everyone on the waitlist. Is there a chance that when you emailed them to accept a place on the waitlist that they didn't receive your request? I would call and verify with them since that would stink if they forgot to put you on the waitlist for whatever reason!adav wrote:still haven't received the second one.

Well I suppose I wouldn't worry too much about it. As long as you're still on the waitlist. The email didn't say anything of great importance anyway.adav wrote:called to check if I was still on the waitlist and they said I was. She didn't give me a reason as to why i didn't receive the email. Strange.Stephanie13 wrote:That is really weird. Re: BU! woot.
I wasn't sure where to post this, so I gave this thread a shot.
I'm currently trying to decide between a 60k scholarship at BU and applying to law schools again in the fall.
My two biggest incentives for the latter are:
1) Crappy legal market
2) Uncertainty about BU's placement
Can someone possibly enlighten me about BU's job prospects in this economy? What kind of job/salary are you people expecting upon graduation, presumably in 2013?

Re: BU! woot.
I'm a 1L. If you're dead-set on working at a big firm - don't settle for anything lower than MVP. From Cornell on - its rough for everybody.Mattalones wrote:Everyone you talk to at BU will tell you that they think things will get better, but there is no telling what will really happen. Also, everyone going into to BU is asking your same question (myself included). So, I would assume that there really isn't that much more information out there about this right now; otherwise, someone in the entering class would find it or the school would tell us about it. As for BU's placement, they do really well in NE and their name has national recognition, so you can hustle your way into a lot of other places. BU seems like a school where you can achieve your goals from really putting in legwork for job hunts (lots of hustle), but where entitlement and name-prestige won't be the thing to really on (at least not in the next few years to come). This may change in the upcoming years, so, if you are risk averse enough to postpone LS because of it, then postpone for sure; otherwise, take the risk and mitigate it with your best effort on all fronts.

The deadline is of the "postmarked" variety, correct?
