Hoping they choose named schollys soon so those of us who don't get it can still hear about merit money soon!

yes. I believe that's standard for them
Thanks. I imagine that everyone tries to negotiate for x dollars that 3rd year

The letter actually states that if you are in a pre-approved public interest job in the summer after 2L, your package will be readjusted to get the full amount in 3L. So I'm not sure it's something that's really negotiable upfront.

Sorry to hear about this, but bless you for sharing this news. Maybe the dings are rolling since I know myself + others have still not heard back either way.

Got the aid award letter ... much more than the $0/year I was expecting, joining the ranks of the happily surprised.
Didn't apply for named scholarships, got my Need Access in very promptly.

ETA: Should mention that I am over 28 and don't make very much money, so I imagine that helped a bit.

How many people are still waiting to hear at all?

I am! Do we know whether the emails all came out at the same time today or whether there were waves?

Congrats to everyone getting offers today. Like many of you, I am happy with my offer, but I definitely plan to try to negotiate for more. Any thoughts on when I should start trying to negotiate? I don't want to be too pushy and ask immediately, but then again their scholarship $ is in limited supply and I don't want to wait longer than I have to.

I would like to know this as well. I plan on trying to negotiate once I hear back back from comparable schools and if they offer either the same or more than NYU

I've tried to be patient, but I'm sitting at UR 2 for over a month and a half right now. As well, I applied for a named scholarship. Does this mean I'm SOL? Should I abandon hope at this point?

hey yall, I was on the phone with Fin Aid this morning asking questions about LRAP but we discussed the timing of merit awards briefly.

She noted that I had applied for RTK and said that was marked on my file, and she said specifically they don't evaluate applications for merit awards until after the named scholly process is totally concluded.

I happened to have also just received the RTK ding by e-mail, and told her that, and she said its just a matter of the RTK people refreshing the system so that info reaches Fin Aid's system, and then my file would be up for review.

so... basically, don't panic if you applied to a Named program and didn't hear anything today about unnamed merit stuff.

It's not a great sign for $$, but hope for admittance isn't gone. That said, I don't think anyone has been WL'd yet, so I'd expect a huge WL wave in the next week or two.

Thank you!

Also, a reminder to everyone to please update the spreadsheet if you can

What do they consider a comparable school? Would they care that Duke and Michigan both gave me almost twice as much, for example, or do they not consider them competitors?
I am planning on negotiating with Duke if I get money from them because they're only two ranks below and have a very strong con law program that is comparable to NYU's so I figured it wouldn't hurt.

WL wave really in a week or two? I assumed this would be mid-late April....
