So, applicants are down 8.5% year-over-year. The only question is how much of that will appear in the T14 applicant population. Last cycle saw a similar overall decline, but T14 maintained both medians pretty much across the board..

If I get some time over the weekend (or if anyone has time to do this), we could look at the 509 reports from schools to see their year-over-year application trends. From that, we could then see if overall LSAC trends correlate to T14 trends. My guess is they don't.suppy183 wrote:http://www.lsac.org/lsacresources/data/ ... ear-volume

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
I don't know if you've seen the discussion in the Harvard thread, but LSAT data for the YTD applicant pool is out, and 165+ applicants are down by about 15%. I think that's probably the single best indicator for how the cycle is going to go for T14 applicants. Last cycle 170+ applicants went up, 165-169 went down, and ultimately it netted out to no change in the combined 165+ category, and then we saw virtually no change in T14 medians.pylon wrote:If I get some time over the weekend (or if anyone has time to do this), we could look at the 509 reports from schools to see their year-over-year application trends. 509s for the 13/14 cycle aren't out yet though, right?
Edit: Anecdotally from TLS, the September LSAT seems to have been a bit rough for a lot of people, so it's possible we'll see a disproportionate number of apps post-December LSAT. But that's backed up by 0 data, so I'm optimistic that the LSAT data will be indicative of how the cycle goes.

I thought these were them: http://www.abarequireddisclosures.org/ (You can generate a report for 2013. I thought it meant 2013/2014, but I guess it could be 2012/2013 - am not sure).suppy183 wrote:509s for the 13/14 cycle aren't out yet though, right?

No, I'm pretty sure those are for 12/13. I think it's still a few more months until the most recent 509s are due.pylon wrote:I thought these were them: http://www.abarequireddisclosures.org/ (You can generate a report for 2013. I see. I guess we could do the same exercise, but for a year behind (comparing 11/12 to 12/13 overall and T14 trends).suppy183 wrote:No, I'm pretty sure those are for 12/13. Scroll down to the declines broken down by LSAT score. For those of you who have already applied, this should be especially encouraging.

Is anyone else's snail mail coming a whole lot later now that it's the holiday season? My mail use to come at like 2-3pm and now it's like 5-6pm! It's definitely ruining my mail-checking schedule.

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
Hey guys! I don't know if anyone remembers me from earlier this year (particularly during the June LSAT wait time), but I took everyone's advice on waiting to take the LSAT in December instead of in September (since I hadn't really studied to improve my score).
The December LSAT was actually not so bad to me compared to June. I was a bit stressed due to being in the middle of finals (21 credit hours this semester!), but I am pretty much finished with my LORs, PS, and DS.
Anyone pretty good at PS and DS reviewing and would like to read mine to make sure it is properly focused?
Thanks and good luck this cycle!!!

Yeah, I stick to my phone (though I am on the company wireless... daredevil move?). But regardless, something to stop me from constantly refreshing would be great.bound wrote:rebexness wrote:Self Control app would be great for my work computer when decisions start going out. ugh ugh ugh.

I know that feeling. I wouldn't dare use the company computer or even wifi for searching TLS stuff. When I'm at work, I try to work. That said, I have definitely done some checking on my lunch breaks.bound wrote:rebexness wrote:Self Control app would be great for my work computer when decisions start going out. ugh ugh ugh.
