Nope, UR2 since 1/9. Expecting a reject at this point. Submitted 12/24, >75 LSAT, >25 GPA.

I went UR1 on 1/10 and still nothing. What the heck NYU... I thought we were going to be so happy together...

A letter to the NYU community from Exec. Vice President Alison Leary:

"I am writing to confirm that the University will resume normal academic activities and operations at 11:00 a.m. today as previously communicated...

Personnel who perform essential services are expected to report for their normal work assignments at their regular times. If you are uncertain whether your job's duties are considered "essential services", please be in touch with your supervisor."

(italics and ellipses are my own)

I would venture to say that admissions is probably not considered an essential service. I think they are probably referring to things like the medical office, or other departments where it could be severely detrimental to daily operations of the university if they started late. Admissions could probably survive a two hour delay without bringing the institution to a screeching halt. So, I would expect nothing new before 11 am. And I don't think they will necessarily be staying open later than usual to compensate for the late start, so I would not be surprised if some people who would have heard back today are pushed until tomorrow.

College employee here. Essential is generally residence life, food services, public safety, some grounds, and dean/vp-level fac/staff. Definitely not admissions. Our admissions office is known for working from home on days like today, though, b/c they have to read a certain # of files a week and can bring secure laptops home.

W/ that being said, very likely this could delay updates for us. Bawwww.

I'm UR1 11/8. At their median. STILL haven't heard back.

I've come to the conclusion that they are just waiting to see my February LSAT retake before making their move.

Is it delayed until later today because of the late opening? Delayed until tomorrow? Or am I just not lucky enough for the quick DLS admit and I might be in for a longer wait until DING or WL? Nobody but NYU knows at this point. I am assuming if any followers of the thread went DLS it would have been posted, but the followers are such a small percentage of applicants its possible that DLS went out and just to no one here.
