As of last night, Chicago had 105 acceptances reported on LSN, compared with 187 by the end of last year's cycle (56%).
Isn't Chicago interviewing more candidates this year? If they can obtain some semblance of true interest in Hyde Park from the interview -- and thus, boost their yield -- they won't need to accept as many this year......

Last year, for example, they made offers to 837 applicants, and matriculated 191, for a 23% yield. If they can boost that yield to say 30% by interviewing, they would only need to accept 637 -- 200 fewer -- to fill their class.

So guys, what's the consensus? Do I call them or should I continue to patiently wait for my ding/WL? Still complete 1/8.

Submitted on 12/3. I went complete on 12/14 and just went under review less than 2 weeks ago. They just seem to be really behind.

Edit: Just got an interview invite.

What is the consensus on who gets interviewed? (i.e. likely chance of admission after interview invite, etc.) The website says it doesn't mean anything, but that doesn't make sense...

sent 1/12
complete 1/25
UR I think since sometime in February...

interview invite 3/21

4.02 GPA
165 LSAT

Does anyone know if a set of decision is coming out tomorrow or will it be next Friday (due to their 3-week decision cycle)?

Automatic ding, but still want the closure.

Sincerely doubt CCN does YP. Even then 172/4.33 is not a lock for HYS (perhaps H), so YP doesn't make sense. Just be patient they'll get there eventually!

You could ask if, since your application is still complete, you'll be able to update it, and then ask if you might be able to do so for the next couple of days. See what info they'll give away, maybe?

Sincerely doubt CCN does YP.
I somewhat disagree.

Chicago has a small class and I have no doubt that they care about students who want them. It may not only be a numbers-YP, but geographic as well. (Chicago (and all midwestern schools), know full well that many/most easterners would prefer the other C or N to Chicago.)

You could ask if, since your application is still complete, you'll be able to update it,
Isn't that clearly addressed on their website?

It's only shady YP if they're rejecting people based on their high numbers alone. Not wanting to admit people who don't seem serious about attending is something that every school does.

TLS understates the importance of non-numerical factors. There are schools that clearly will YP based on numbers alone (e.g. Michigan, American) but the evidence doesn't show that to be the case for CCN.

It is. You cannot update your application after it is complete (LOCI's included), except as it pertains to their C&F questions.

Got interview invite today.

Question: Is this essentially mandatory? I know they say it's not, but will not doing it kill my shot? The times they have available don't work too well with my work schedule (since i can't skype at work), and I'm a little unsure of my interviewing ability right now. I definitely wouldn't mind not doing it, but I feel like declining would hurt my chances at acceptance and/or scholly $.

No clue, but I would think that it would hurt.

You should def find a way to do the interview.

Has anyone who was admitted on March 8 heard back about Rubies or other scholarship info?

They said that we (3/8 people) should hear back about scholarships by late March, which I assume to mean either tomorrow or next Friday.

Probably next Friday because they said NA was due 3/22. But oh man, I would be psyched if it came out tomorrow.

ETA: there has been at least 1 Ruby from the 3/8 group reported in the admitted students thread.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
