Went DF yesterday. Got an email today inviting me to an admitted students reception. Hope that's not an accident and that the letter in the mail holds good news.

I'm hoping they are speedy about the 3/2 IR group; it would be nice to have a decision before I'm home in LA for spring break.

Woot! DF yesterday, in via admitted students e-mail today!

EDIT: Hmm... The event is tomorrow in NYC. Kinda short notice...

So you're saying there's a chance...

Do I take this to mean that only certain region's applicants are notified more quickly by e-mail due to receptions? I live in the most-poverty stricken county of a rust-belt state. People don't even want to fly over us, much less hold a reception here...

I'd suspect this is correct. The reception by my area (I'm from NYC suburb) is tomorrow. Most likely why I got the early notification.

And I'd be shocked if you didn't get in with them kinda numbers. GL2U

Thanks. I have no complaints about my cycle, but I've had dreams of moving to Cali for years now, and given the right kind of money, I could definitely be tempted.

That's what I'm hoping (for my sake too!).

+ 1 I live in CA no need to attend a regional reception when I can attend Law Day in April.

I only have 2 IR's. Submitted 2/1, complete ~2/16 (when my LOR's arrived, so I'm assuming this is the date), IR 2/17, then IR 3/4, DF 3/7.

I don't know if I am an admit, but I have had 4 or 5 review dates since early December. I submitted in October. Hope this helps.

Perhaps there was no regional reception upcoming (there's one very soon in NYC I believe) for you? Or as someone mentioned above, they figured you'd just drop by one day?
