Long time lurker here, I have a skype interview with the Director of Financial Aid soon. I was wondering if any of you have any experience with her... what type of questions I should be prepared for and such. Any advice is appreciated. Also, for those who interviewed what did you guys wear for the skype interview?

If it's the admission interview, it's like any other interview, just with the director of fin aid. She is really nice. You can probably use the search function to find types of questions asked.

Yes. I never got a call or e-mail, just an invite from Dean Faulk inviting me to the admitted students FB group. Got my acceptance package a few days later.

Mine doesn't. I'm relatively familiar with this system (my UG institution uses a similar one), and I'd guess it doesn't mean anything--these sorts of weird glitches happen.

Great... there should also be a moratorium on any mail or emails from UVA until all scholarships have gone out. The letters and emails I've gotten this week about clerkships and careers have induced a ton of anxiety

I hypothesize that this might just be a sign that they are processing our need based aid materials. Total guess, though, as our sample size is quite small. Or we can go with wild optimism that they are creating enormous scholarships for us?

Interesting. I was about to say this can't be it because I haven't done anything needbased yet, but I did justtt do FAFSA. I'd be really surprised if all I was getting from UVA is a needbased package with merit factored in or something, and no Dean's award.

For what it's worth, I haven't done FAFSA or anything and nothing about 2017 shows up. I haven't gotten a merit offer yet, and I'm hopeful that will still be possible--I hope my stats are good enough!

Interesting. I was about to say this can't be it because I haven't done anything needbased yet, but I did justtt do FAFSA. I'd be really surprised if all I was getting from UVA is a needbased package with merit factored in or something, and no Dean's award.

I really have no idea, honestly, and it very well could be that you're going to get a great scholarship today. That notification could just be the stand-in for when they've received your FAFSA but haven't decided merit aid yet. It could be a stand in for a range of different statuses and we each have different statuses. I haven't heard anything on either need or merit, submitted need based info this week, and I see the same notification as you. If it helps, I'm 169, <25th GPA, unusual/above average softs, public interest focused, and high financial need.

Yep! Basically every time there's a date change, add a number.

Just means progress toward a decision.

So does everyone get UR2 at some point? (meaning it is not indicative of good/bad)
