what's up everyone?

haven't really read through this thread or frequented this site much at all -- so if i'm asking stupid questions, forgive me.

my application went complete a little before thanksgiving. harvard is a pretty significant long-shot for me, so i'm not too worried....more curious...but would I have received an interview invite by now if I were going to get one? Or are they not coming for a bit for people who applied when I did?

Welcome!

I don't think you need to worry - I got mine only last week and I went complete near the beginning of November. Also - when I signed up for my JS1, there were only six available slots. JS may just be waiting for this wave of interviews to finish up before sending out more invites.

I think it really depends more on your numbers/what kind of candidate they're looking for than what date you went complete. If you are a borderline candidate, they might hold onto your application for a long long time to see how their class pans out before moving to give you a JS1. Hold on tight. There were people on LSN who had went complete in October and waited until February/March/April to get a JS1

I went complete just before Thanksgiving, and had my JS1 last week.
It seems like the distance between completion and JS1 invite varies between people, though.

I'll be in this boat around the end of the week. JS2s are normally later in the day though.

So are JS1's usually notified by email a significant time after the status checker updates with this information? Does the status checker update with "Interview requested" or something similar?

It stays in complete, but the JS1 e-mail shows up in the mailing list on the left.

You sure? At least for me, the time on the thread is an hour off of real time now, so would it really be 3:40ish?

Yeah, I am not sure about that either. I think that it was probably 3:40 then. This is getting frustrating, especially with the late thanksgiving.
