Are we really not going to hear anything today? I need an acceptance after two waitlists this week.

The level of lolcatiness has definitely gone down in the past few weeks.swl56 wrote:I love spending time waiting for a call from Penn with all the lolcats

I think if you don't hear anything by 4, then don't hope for anything at all. It's more likely they sneak off a round of WL/dings near closing time.sgtgrumbles wrote:Are we really not going to hear anything today? I need an acceptance after two waitlists this week.
I was hoping for another round scholarship emails, but all is quiet at Penn Law.

So, do we think they are done with Toll, Levy, James Wilson, etc invites or more are on the way?

Last year/the year before there were more waves after the first people heard back (from thread-stalking, there were invites that came out mid-march). So there'll be more, just probably not super soon?

They claim to be rolling. Also some people may turn them down, so if not all selections are used up they would likely to award more. Some of the recent and soon to be admits should also get a look. That said, if you are an early admit and not receive an invite in the first wave chances are low that you would get it still.dulcatis wrote:Last year/the year before there were more waves after the first people heard back (from thread-stalking, there were invites that came out mid-march). What's the process for these awards? Like what happens after you get an invite?

Yeah, that makes sense. I was admitted early January, so hopefully I still have a shot. Big time public interest and cross disciplinary focus, so Toll or Levy would be nice.r6_philly wrote:They claim to be rolling. My understanding is you have to write some essays, or one essay addressing numerous topics (3?)arism87 wrote:What's the process for these awards? Like what happens after you get an invite?

For the Levy they give you some questions and you pick one and answer it. Feel free to PM me if you have more specific questions about ittipler4213 wrote:My understanding is you have to write some essays, or one essay addressing numerous topics (3?)arism87 wrote:What's the process for these awards? Re: Penn 2011
To derail from scholarship talk, do we think Penn will be back to their normal Friday decision-making this week? The graphs from last year's notifications show a trickle of decisions each week for the next couple months. It seems like all the big waves have splashed ashore by now. Now we wait for the little ones to lap at our ankles.

Re: Penn 2011
Hello Penn hopefuls!
I applied rather late in the cycle because I wasn't considering Penn until I got a fee waiver based on my Dec LSAT score. After doing more research about Penn I actually started to really like it and it is probably a second or third choice now (behind NYU or Columbia, only because I want to live in NY.)
Point is that my app went complete on 1/28 (submitted somewhere around 1/20) and does NOT say under review yet. This worries me, I'm starting to get paranoid thoughts that I will be the LAST application they read!
Anyone have insight about how long it takes apps from later in the cycle to go from complete to the first stage of under review? From scrolling back, I can see that there are typically a couple review dates before a decision, but I can't seem to get to that first under review yet!!

It could easily take you several more weeks to go under review.

They don't really have a pattern. Some people waited FOREVER before going UCR and even in between review dates (you'll have at least two). The good news is that the length of time between each step hasn't determined what type of decision you'll get. You can wait a really long time and still get in, move quickly and get dinged, or any other combination. Good luck!cassidylane wrote:Hello Penn hopefuls!

I'm at the exact same spot as you, submitted 1/20, UR 1/28. Let me know if your status changes!cassidylane wrote:Hello Penn hopefuls!

I've been at the first UCR date 1/3 for 1.5 months by now. Is anyone else still stuck at 1/3?
