just checked my status and my decision was rendered today, i was hoping that someone who has been following the BC cycle if they could tell me whether admits have been getting phone calls, emails, or snail mail...basically looking for some sort of trend where i can try to predict my decision based on how they will contact me. thanks!

EVERYTHING is done through snail mail. You are gonna have to wait. Good luck!

You can always look up BC on LSN and sort the applicants by "Decision". This will allow you to see if there is a trend or if BC sends out decisions in batches (all Admits, all Rejects, etc...). You can also click on applicants who are admitted and view their profiles. Many people on LSN will disclose how they found out, for example they might post something like: "In at BC via phone call and status checker".

I also put people who have similar numbers or similar schools as me on my watchlist, that way I can click through them and see what kind of admissions activity is going on for applicants similar to myself.

I've been doing this for various schools to which I've applied and it has been pretty accurate so far!

BC is such a tease. I was doing Need Access. And you know when you have to scroll down a list of participating schools? BC's said the following:

Boston College (entering students)

WHY MUST YOU TEASE ME SO???? All the other schools just have their name but nooooo BC has to have the "entering students" part as well. I was so excited for 5 seconds!

DR yesterday! It appears BC updates their status checker later in the evening (at least for me) because I habitually check it when I leave at 5pm for the day, and around 9:30am, after I go through my morning emails, and I didn't see it yesterday.

Anyways this was my long shot (reverse splitter blues - 162/3.8 ) so I am hoping but wouldn't be surprised if the letter is teeny.

I saw that and figured it meant "entering students" as opposed to 2Ls & 3Ls. Not "entering students" as in people who have already been offered admission...

for those of us on the WL, does BC notify you once they receive the green WL form? I sent mine but haven't heard anything from BC.

So who all will be riding out the WL until the end? Anyone with me?

I was reading the BC WL thread from last year and it looks like a number of TLSers made it off the WL last cycle. Hoping that's the case this year.

Have you even gotten a scholarship offer from BC yet? For all you know, they will give a similar offer.

After being decision pending since 12/12, yes that's right 12/2!!, I got the WL letter today. Oh well! Better than an outright rejection. The BC entry under the Rankings section says they add people to the WL frequently.

Now putting aside the fact that BC waitlisted me for undergrad then ultimately rejectd me, I'm still going to go ahead and put my name on the waitlist.

Anyone out there know how many people were accepted off the WL in past years?

scholarship offers havent really started coming out yet. They should be coming out soon, hopefully at least.

I haven't gotten money yet, and they might give me something, but I really was not expecting money from any schools in the T30 with my numbers and would be really really surprised if BC gave me anything. I grew up in Boston though and I'd love to be back closer to home....

can anyone speak some on the "disneyland of law schools" thing? what does that mean? i know newton's a super nice neighborhood but that's obviously not the whole reason BC is called that.

PS:
stephanie--sorry :(

From what I remember, it has more to do with the attitude of the student body than anything else, who are supposed to be very friendly and not as cutthroat as the students at similarly-ranked law schools.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
