It's so great to see other people my age enjoying classic movies; it makes me feel less like an honorary 50-year-old when I'm watching something in black and white.

The 'blue' in my handle stems from 'let's go blue'--there's the Michigan connection.

I really prefer classic movies to newer ones overall (most of my favorites are from the '50s and '60s) so you're not definitely alone in enjoying them.

For what it's worth, NYU never sent me any kind of acknowledgment for anything, not even my initial app. I didn't even think I was complete there when I got my BPE.

I don't know how I like this trend of everyone making acronyms for each school's acceptance pack.

BPE = Big Purple Envelope
VCE = Vomit Colored Envelope (my personal fave)
BBB = Big Blue Binder?

Not sure about the others; Texas is probably big orange envelope.

I got a call from an NYU '09 graduate today asking if I had any questions about the school, which I thought was nice of them.

I got a call from an alumni as well today...he was very helpful and I ended up talking to him for quite some time.

So, I submitted 12/12, got a received e-mail on 12/22, and just today got a complete e-mail. Does this seem bad? I know that people who have submitted after me have been accepted. I'm 3.7/171, so I know it's a stretch.
