if your stats are the same, you're almost definitely not going to get GW ED, I'd rethink law school or take a year off to retake

I know Mr. Bungles. The rejection when/if it comes will cost me all of $28.james.bungles wrote:if your stats are the same, you're almost definitely not going to get GW ED

you can withdraw whenever you want — whenever you know for certain that you won't be attending a school, even if that's before you get a decision. you can just do it by email informing them that you're withdrawing and thanking them for their consideration, etc.psychmusic wrote:What is the etiquette about withdrawing apps? It was, then I had to go to school last night/this morning and the school's computer decided it wanted to just stop working when I was nearly done with 1 of 2 research essay tests. Yeah the system's auto save was from near the paper's beginning.pylon wrote:Congrats! Is it nice to have that weight off your shoulders?RCSOB657 wrote:First acceptance came via tracker today. yay.

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
Question for you guys--
I expected to be in at Michigan and Berkeley by now (and probably UR at Penn), but I'm not. I've been UR since 11/3 with Berkeley and complete at Michigan since 10/27, and I'm above LSAT 75ths and at GPA 75ths at all three schools. However, I had to answer "yes" to minor C&F stuff (Code of Conduct noise violation) on my initial applications, and later sent in corrections after the decision was reversed, clearing me of all wrongdoing.
Is it possible that my application was red-flagged early in the process and that's why I haven't heard back? In which case, I presume I wouldn't hear until much later in the process?
Not a big deal, really, since I'd take the Dillard at UVA over anything those three schools could offer me, and I've gotten into other schools with the C&F issue (Duke, NYU), but still kind of frustrating.

Berkeley has a weird admissions process (black box) and you're not alone in waiting for Mich (if I'm not mistaken some September submitters with similar stats are still waiting) but they practice some degree of YP so that could be it. As far as Penn goes I went complete mid-October and I'm not UR yet either. Only the earliest RD submitters are UR I'm pretty sure.Dream_weaver32 wrote:My dates are identical, and radio silence here. The process is taking longer this year at many schools. Everybody just hang tight!

Didn't apply to Northwestern but the idea of T14 schools in hand-to-hand combat should give everyone this cycle a fuzzy feeling.
Summer was waning and students were already packing for the fall semester, but Prof. Daniel B. Rodriguez, dean of the Northwestern University School of Law, was still fielding phone calls from incoming students seeking to bargain down the tuition at the elite school.
“It’s insane,” Professor Rodriguez said. “We’re in hand-to-hand combat with other schools.”
In the new topsy-turvy law school world, students are increasingly in control as nearly all of the 204 accredited law schools battle for the students with the best academic credentials.

It could also just be YP and have nothing to do with C&F. I have similar complete dates and above 75ths (but no C&F issues), and have radio silence from M, B AND V. Dreamweaver (above) is also waiting too so....irontryad wrote:Question for you guys--

Take the Dillard and run! Nothing less than a full ride at a higher ranked school is worth passing up that Dillard.irontryad wrote:Question for you guys--

Yeah, that's why I'm not really bothered by the Michigan/Berkeley stuff. I wouldn't take either, even with full rides, over the Dillard. I guess maybe the Ruby/Hamilton, but I won't get either. Now, if Yale comes knocking...so, yeah, Dillard it iscanadianbrother wrote:Take the Dillard and run! I also didn't write "Why X" for anyone but UVA.

I unfortunately wrote a Why X for all of those schools haha... spent so long on it too, but I guess they don't think I'm particularly convincing? I did get D though, even though it's pretty YP-heavy this year... so who knows...pylon wrote:Did you write Why X essays for those schools?blueberrycrumble wrote:It could also just be YP and have nothing to do with C&F.

The cycle just started though, only the first few batches of acceptances have gone out - there's plenty of time.

Haha yeah for sure, not too worried right now. Just wanted to point out to the OP that it could be YP instead of C&F.pylon wrote:Ah.
