How long does it usually take after interview to reach a decision? Have most interviews been acceptances so far?

I believe this year most interviews haven't had a decision rendered yet.

please excuse my naiveté with GULC lingo, what does "application complete" mean to them? It seems like it means something else.

The first completion date means the application is complete.

The second one likely means the application is under review.

The third or final is the equivalent of decision rendered and sent.


Depending on whether there were interviews or other bumps in your application, you may have additional completion dates recognizing the processing of these factors.

*This is all based on reasonable speculation from acceptances this cycle.

I received an e-mail on 11/29 saying my application was received...I assume that would mean my application is complete...I did not check the status checker at the time...should I assume the 12/3 date on my status checker is the same as the "second" completion date

Let me go ahead and stop you right there by saying that these dates do not correlate at all to an exact science, and that you should not be paying nearly this much attention to whether this is your first, second, third date, etc. You have at least a month to go for a decision if you just submitted, if I were to throw a guess out there, so put your pants back on... And if you must know, 12/3 was probably your first complete date.

I applied ED and I know they simply say a decision will rendered by 1/15 so that's believable...

IN! Got the letter yesterday. I was surprised because they sent it to Europe. I was thinking they'd definitely mail it to my parents in the states.

Anyway, congrats to everyone in!! It's nice to have the first one come back positive--can rest a little easier now.

May I ask what your stats are?

Congrats to all the 29ers! I got my letter Friday in the Midwest (didn't try the admitted student site in advance). Submitted RD, FT, 10/28. Had a total of 5 updates before my decision was rendered. I interviewed on 11/16. I'm a big time splitter and my interview was mentioned in my Dean note so I have a feeling the interview really made a difference. For everybody waiting to hear back good luck!!!!

When they sent their interview request they said they would match me with a local alum, they didn't reference a possible phone interview, but I know some schools will make arrangements for a phone interview if you happen to be out of the county, though I'm not sure about GULC's options for these.

Once my interviewer got in touch with me he said he was so busy this (last) week that if I wanted to do it sooner rather than later we could arrange a phone interview. I'm assuming it doesn't hurt to ask once they've emailed you. Good luck!

Very nice note at the bottom that showed they actually read my personal statement. I'm feeling far less cynical about the whole admissions process. Submitted 11/3, complete dates 11/9 --> 11/11 --> 11/18 --> 11/24 --> 11/29.

VIA SNAIL MAIL. Thought it was a rejection when I saw the size of the envelope. Also received a nice personal comment about academic record and extracurrics.
BTW, applied RD, for full time.

I never check the snail mail. The envelope must have been sitting in the mailbox for several days. Roommate checked today (sunday) and handed the envelope over
