I'm the one who should be worried, I've got a 4.297 that LSAC helpfully rounds up to a 4.3, but even so...

I think you'll get the round up. My 4.34 was sadly rounded down to a 4.3 :/LinzerTorte wrote:Don't you have an over 4.3 index starry? Wait, really? You don't think they just take index numbers to one more digit? I'm sure they do.sarahlawg wrote:I think you'll get the round up. well, when you look at your LSAC report you can see what index you're at. They rounded mine down.Knock wrote:sarahlawg wrote:Wait, really? Yeah but i'm sure Columbia isn't basing decisions off that.sarahlawg wrote:well, when you look at your LSAC report you can see what index you're at. Re: Columbia 2011!
It is somewhat associative with acceptances/denials. 4.2 and below not a great shot (i've heard ~25% or less), 4.3 around 50/50, 4.4+ high chance of getting in (non URMs)Casey2889 wrote:whats the significance of the index number? do they usually accept over a certain value?

Re: Columbia 2011!
Maybe? Check the transcript report that LSAC sent to Columbia, and that should have it rounded up or down.Casey2889 wrote:do they round a 4.45 to a 4.5?

Re: Columbia 2011!
I think what Knock is saying is that regardless of what LSAC does with the index, Columbia has both your LSAT score and your GPA, and they will calculate your index how they want to.
Ugh, the gulf between 4.29 and 4.3 is really not that big, but it certainly seems that way...

Re: Columbia 2011!
Question about the index: If you have two LSAT scores, a reason for the lower one, and they choose to take the higher one, will they recalculate your index for you? On my LSAC report it's the average index...but I added an addendum and they request the add. for score leaps as big as I had...
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
