This data doesn't necessarily take into account people who interviewed versus people who didn't (that has to be self reported), but I will say this:
Stats of the 3 most recent accepts from those who applied in January and heard back in March: 1.(168/3.19) 2.(164/4.06) 3.(168/3.7)
Stats of the 3 most recent waitlists from those who applied in January and heard back in March: 1.(168/3.85) 2.(158/3.80) 3.(164/3.57)
Stats of the 3 most recent denies from those who applied in January and heard back in March: 1. (157/3.6) 2.(150/3.33) 3.(157/3.5)
My personal conclusion: They seem to be friendlier to January applicants with an answer in March who are near, at, or above their 75% in some fashion, whether it be LSAT or GPA.
I hope this helps!

Unfortunately I think I'm heading from a ding if those numbers are indicative of the decisions as a whole, but I can't say I would be disappointed as this was a super long shot anyway.Anonnonnon wrote:No problem! Hey, you never know! As much as the numbers say what they do, take this into account: They are old, they don't take into account interviewees, and they are biased by those types of students that would self report their scores anyway. So no worries! You don't know what your decision is until they tell you.tezzeret wrote:Unfortunately I think I'm heading from a ding if those numbers are indicative of the decisions as a whole, but I can't say I would be disappointed as this was a super long shot anyway.Anonnonnon wrote:No problem! I was checking mylsn for timeline, and it looks like a staggering amount of WL's and dings come out in March. Again, at this point in the cycle most people say that a lot of schools send out dings in big batches towards the end, so I guess everything makes sense based on the available data.

Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Exactly. I think the influx of denials and waitlists come from the fact that law schools are pushing out their final decisions before their seat deposit and scholarship deadlines, and also dealing with people who applied late in the cycle as well.tezzeret wrote:I was checking mylsn for timeline, and it looks like a staggering amount of WL's and dings come out in March. EDIT: To give more context to the chart I made dealing with January applicants who hear back in March, according to mlsn.info, Georgetown seems to prefer candidates who are at, near, or (even better) above their 75% in either LSAT or GPA. As a refresher (from Law School Transparency):
GLUC LSAT: 25% (161) 75% (168)
GLUC GPA: 25% (3.47) 75% (3.85)
So, if only either your GPA or LSAT around is right around any of GLUC's 75% numbers, (in other words, if you are a splitter or a reverse-splitter) and you still have not heard back, don't worry and hang in there! Just because you haven't heard anything yet, does not mean you're out of the running.

For people who did alumni interviews, how long did it typically take before you heard from your interviewer? It's been 6 days for me and still absolutely nothing. I know the email said to contact admissions after 12 calendar days, but I'm just wondering if a lot of people were having similar experiences.

Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I didn't hear from mine at all and they had to find a different interviewer after the 10 day period. I didn't contact them though, on the 10th or 11th day they(georgetown) contacted me and told me they were finding me a different one because the original one did not respond.Navyhornguy wrote:For people who did alumni interviews, how long did it typically take before you heard from your interviewer? It really varies because chances are your interviewer is an active attorney (mine was a partner at a large firm in town), and they can be busy people. I personally got contacted by my interviewer's secretary to set something up within like 3 or 4 days...but with Vanderbilt, it took me 4 weeks before they finally just had me skype someone from the admissions office (GULC doesn't do skype interviews as far as I know though) because my interviewer had still never contacted me even after the admissions office reached out to them multiple times.Navyhornguy wrote:For people who did alumni interviews, how long did it typically take before you heard from your interviewer? Georgetown does do skype interviews because mine was one.lolsquirtlesquad14 wrote:It really varies because chances are your interviewer is an active attorney (mine was a partner at a large firm in town), and they can be busy people. The admissions office does skype interviews? Didn't know that. I thought it was only the alumni interviews and group interviews.JuliusCaesar wrote:Georgetown does do skype interviews because mine was one.lolsquirtlesquad14 wrote:It really varies because chances are your interviewer is an active attorney (mine was a partner at a large firm in town), and they can be busy people. Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I think mine was about a week before he contacted me, so I wouldn't start worrying yet. Also because I applied on the later end of things (i.e. mid January) I think they wanted to see if I was serious about the school and actually considering a move to DC (I already live in SF). We talked a lot more about politics and what I want to do with a law degree than my resume, but that might be because I've been out of school for awhile and you could see it as a shift for me. It lasted a solid hour, and was done at his law firm.Navyhornguy wrote:For people who did alumni interviews, how long did it typically take before you heard from your interviewer? Waitlisted. I wasn't able to make the group interview in NYC last month, could that have counted against me?

It probably didn't count against you...but if you borderline, the interview may have pushed you over the edge from WL to admit.bezmialem wrote:Waitlisted. I wasn't able to make the group interview in NYC last month, could that have counted against me?

just got an email saying I'm "in a special group within the preferred waitlist" and that they cannot extend as many offers as they would like to because of "the large volume of qualified applicants." is this different from the preferred waitlist email people got back in December?

Weird, I got the preferred waitlist email just now but mine doesn't mention "large volume of qualified applicants." There is a mention about ~50 people getting off the list though.proteinshake wrote:just got an email saying I'm "in a special group within the preferred waitlist" and that they cannot extend as many offers as they would like to because of "the large volume of qualified applicants." is this different from the preferred waitlist email people got back in December?

actually just looked it up, seems like there's a 'preferred' waiting list within the preferred waiting list http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... hp?t=31312 -- so I guess this is for people who would have gotten in if they applied soonerproteinshake wrote:just got an email saying I'm "in a special group within the preferred waitlist" and that they cannot extend as many offers as they would like to because of "the large volume of qualified applicants." is this different from the preferred waitlist email people got back in December?

I'm not sure, I'm 25<GPA<50 and LSAT>75. I don't know if it makes much sense to stay on waitlist if no chance of aid even if I do get in.RZ5646 wrote:Waitlisted even with an alumni interview. Also put on the waitlist about 20 minutes ago. Not totally surprised but not going to keep my hopes up.

~*~*~preferred~*~*~ waiting list. Expected after someone in my interview group had already gotten their letter last Friday.
proteinshake, it looks like they are different since my email had no mention of a special group.
