Did not get asked this but I interviewed almost a month ago (a lot fewer acceptances were out at the time) so maybe it's different now. Anyone receive scholarship info yet? Had an earlier interview and was told they would start releasing information after their first meeting last Friday. Figured someone would have heard back by now seeing as they'll meet to discuss a new group tomorrow.

Had my fin aid interview recently. I'd echo everyone who's been saying it's laid back and conversational. I found it to be very pleasant.

+1 I interviewed during the first week of interviews, and I've heard squat. They'd initially told me I'd hear back by the end of January, so...jewkidontheblock wrote:Haven't seen anything yet... Bummer. I appreciated the transparency when they laid out a timeline, but it's disappointing that they aren't sticking to it.Toodle-loo wrote:+1 I interviewed during the first week of interviews, and I've heard squat. Guess I'll hope for something by the end of the month.

Think I'm gonna sit down and start working on my LOCI today. I wrote a Why Duke with my app so I'll have to brainstorm some new ideas on that front.

Duke is sending us some crazy weird mixed messages with regards to scholarship info. On the one hand they seem to go out of their way during the interview to keep us informed on the process and give an approximate timetable, and on the other hand they have so far totally disregarded the time table they gave us

I interviewed recently and was told early March.
Do we have any consensus on how important the interview is in terms of dealing merit money? It seems like it'd be awfully tough to say "that's an 80k interview" and "that's a 60k" one, but there must be some of that going on, because why even ask the non-need based aid questions otherwise?

Yeah, I got that impression too. In particular, it seems they're trying to gauge a) how interested an admit really is and b) how much they can contribute to the school/get involved. Numbers, of course, will still be weighed heavily, but I have to think spending fifteen minutes talking to each admit has to be used somewhere in their evaluation (even if it is a very small part).MrBalloons wrote:I interviewed recently and was told early March.

There must be some merit evaluation, because why would you even need an interview for need-based financial aid?MrBalloons wrote:I interviewed recently and was told early March.

Also, I haven't done my interview yet, but I agree with Tycho that they probably want to gauge interest as well to determine how much money is needed as an incentive.

Sorry to divert the discussion, but this is day 9 of PT complete for me. Should I expect a decision today or tomorrow? I've been told usually in the evening but I thought I saw a Saturday decision somewhere.

I wouldn't get my hopes up today (easier said than done). I got mine on day 10, which happened to be Thanksgiving Day, so as far as I know they're pretty committed to meeting the 10 day deadline, but most people seem to report hearing on day 10lawyersHATEhim wrote:Sorry to divert the discussion, but this is day 9 of PT complete for me. I received my email around 2:00 PST on Martin Luther King Day, and people have received decisions on Saturday and Sunday so its very possible to receive your decision not only on a weekend but also on a holiday.lawyersHATEhim wrote:Sorry to divert the discussion, but this is day 9 of PT complete for me. I think considering the fact that the interview is optional, I think it is one of those things that unless yout really, really messed up, it will be either net positive or neutral. I did my interview this week.MrBalloons wrote:I interviewed recently and was told early March.

Hi all! My first post on TLS & a Duke admit
I scheduled my scholarship interview for March 17, but is there anyone with an earlier date that needs to reschedule? I would love to do the interview earlier if possible. Please PM me, thank you!

I think a large part of it is a desire to gauge interest.MrBalloons wrote:I interviewed recently and was told early March.

Definitely keep checking https://law.duke.edu/interview/. I was able to move mine up 3 weeks without much effort.

Priority Reserve email. Kinda bummed. Advice? Do I immediately send a LOCI? will they request an interview? How long until I get an update?

Yes. 169 3.5 so I'm sort of borderline, but worse non-URM numbers have gotten in this cycle.heynowheynow wrote:Did you get your decision today?lawyersHATEhim wrote:Priority Reserve email.
