I'm hoping I'm not the only person wondering about this, but is anyone considering preemptively booking tickets to ASW even without an acceptance in hand? Seems like at worst, the money will just go toward another Southwest flight, and at best, it'll be significantly cheaper. Or is that just crazy talk?

Seems premature. And w/ 185 seats in Chicago's incoming class and it being this late in the cycle, I'd have to be VERY confident of my admission to book that flight.

+1. Also, assuming the change fee for a flight is $90, add that to the flight cost and the total is probably close to what it would cost to wait a few weeks before buying the ticket anyway.MacB wrote:cslouisck wrote:I'm hoping I'm not the only person wondering about this, but is anyone considering preemptively booking tickets to ASW even without an acceptance in hand? Points well taken. For what it's worth, Southwest doesn't charge change/cancellation fees, so the only real issue is finding another flight to take sometime in the next year, but still, that's definitely a situation unique to folks who have Southwest as an option. I'm not aware of another airline with that policy.talesofyore wrote:+1. I don't think they strictly go in chronological order. (early December complete; interview invite 3 weeks ago)JXander wrote:Geez, they're on November???rocktower3 wrote:Got an interview invite, submitted late November. They didn't forget about me afterall!

They might just not like me very much. I'm sure they can't be going strictly in order of submission at this point.

I briefly had the same thought tonight, then I dismissed it as crazy (and inviting bad juju).cslouisck wrote:I'm hoping I'm not the only person wondering about this, but is anyone considering preemptively booking tickets to ASW even without an acceptance in hand? Any ideas as to when the next batch of decisions might be released?

Based on LSN, it looks like they launch one every three weeks. But given that we are so close to May 1st, I assume they'll starting sending them in two week intervals. So next week on Friday!ht2988 wrote:Any ideas as to when the next batch of decisions might be released?

If I don't accept interview, any chance at being accepted?

obviously, this is pure speculation, but if I was an admissions rep, I would view turning down an interview invite as a giant red flag.harvardboy24 wrote:If I don't accept interview, any chance at being accepted?

Almost certainly this would end your chances. Why wouldn't you interview?Audeamus wrote:obviously, this is pure speculation, but if I was an admissions rep, I would view turning down an interview invite as a giant red flag.harvardboy24 wrote:If I don't accept interview, any chance at being accepted?

It's this crazy interview process... It's slowing them down immensely.
