I would only do a LOCI if you were waitlisted, which it doesn't seem like you were. On the other hand, if you have something new to add to your app (ie, grades), I'd send that to them and say you are 'updating' them.butchcassidy wrote:Need some advice on whether or not I should write a LOCI. The email they sent me "postponing" my decision says "no additional information is necessary." Does this really mean "please, don't send us anything else," or would writing a LOCI be a good idea? FWIW I already have it written and ready to go. Thanks all.

This. Also, hey butch. I don't think I've posted to you outside of NH before.crumpetsandtea wrote:I would only do a LOCI if you were waitlisted, which it doesn't seem like you were. Well I have nothing new to add to my app, so I guess I'll hold off on sending them anything. I just hope that "postponing your decision" isn't code for "waitlist."Samara wrote:This. Also, hey butch. And Samara, that's cuz I don't venture out into other threads much. It's dangerous out here.

Has the interview process been as fly-by-night for you as it has for me? I mean, my interviewer sounds like a pretty chill dude, but it seems kind of haphazard. Makes you wonder how much the interview is valued.crumpetsandtea wrote:OHAI!!! Really? My interviewer seems a little tightly wound/stiff. Maybe its just because we haven't spoken in person yet, but she seems considerably less chill than my Vandy interviewer. I'm definitely wearing a suit to the interview.Samara wrote:Has the interview process been as fly-by-night for you as it has for me? I'm also wearing a suit because it's at his workplace and it's better to err on the side of a suit, but he's been real personable, casual and enthusiastic about it. Hopefully, your interviewer turns out to be cooler in person!crumpetsandtea wrote:Really? My interviewer seems a little tightly wound/stiff. Did you only get emails from your interviewer? It's hard to be casual in an email. My guy called me out of the blue one evening, so it was a bit more personal.

My status checker has been totally blank since I got the interview request. I did my interview on Friday. Anyone have any thoughts?

Yeah that's definitely true. It's been via email. Hopefully at the very least she likes me!Samara wrote:I'm also wearing a suit because it's at his workplace and it's better to err on the side of a suit, but he's been real personable, casual and enthusiastic about it. Mine seemed very formal via email, and was actually the coolest lady ever. I'll definitely be keeping in touch with her.crumpetsandtea wrote:Yeah that's definitely true. It's been via email. Why Law?, Why GTown?, and be prepared to talk about your resume. Although we hardly talked about my resume at all.

I had a similar situation, so I tried to generate a username/password, and it created one, however it does not work. I think other people had similar problems.... did it eventually get resolved or does the system sometimes just generate usernames for people even if they are not accepted...

Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Same as others have said - why georgetown, why law. My interviewer (also intimidating - biglaw partner) basically went over my resume asking me questions about particular items, then at one point said, "I guess this is as good a time as ever - why do you want to attend Georgetown?" So I definitely think that was something she had to check off her list, so to speak.goblue99 wrote:i have mine on friday with an intimidatingly accomplished alum. what kinds of questions should i be anticipating?

If you can generate a username/password, you are IN!. It usually won't work for a few days. Mine generated on Monday, didn't work until Friday. Acceptance letter received following Monday.teacher10456 wrote:bbalcrzy23 wrote:Yep, try to generate a username/password on the admitted students website.Geoffrey wrote:4th update today. 11/7, 11/28, interview, 12/16, 12/20. Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
My coworker had a group interview last year, so not sure if they are still the same. But she said they broke up into two groups and debated/discussed a topic. I believe the topic assigned to her group had to do with the admissions process. They asked something like: Would you admit a student with a lower LSAT than the rest? Why? Why not? She said some people didn't speak at all, and others were gunner-like. This is all I can tell you, and it's second hand info, but at least it'll give you some idea what to expect?mithriliel wrote:Same, just wanted to repost to ask again, what are the group interviews like?Jewel628 wrote:Just received an invitation to a group interview--anyone ever have one? EDIT: in case anyone's curious, her stats were: 168/3.1X/non-URM and she was rejected a couple weeks after the interview.

How can you check if you can create an account on the ASW? Do you start off by clicking "no password"?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
