Re: USC 2010!
15k per year for me. I would negotiate, but I don't have any leverage. Davis gave me 20k per year, and U of Arizona gave me 25k per year. Neither of these is enough to get USC to up the amount, and I doubt Davis and UA would bother giving me more if they know USC is offering me a decent amount.

What's your GPA, if you don't mind sharing (at least in terms of USC's percentiles)? I'm still very confused about the DF 3/19 batch. It seems like an overall rejection batch but...I still gotta have that hope.googado wrote:DF 3/19,.,, one of the firsts for a 166,.,,

edit: Just came across it on the admitted student site. Seems as though it wouldn't be too informative. Any other info on the usefulness of attending one of the receptions?

Any idea what it could mean that I haven't even gone under review yet (applied late December, complete mid-January)?

So I apologize if this is an obnoxious question but what is the best way to withdraw? Not really sure who to email......

You haven't been waiting very long. Some have been complete since October (maybe even September).jj55 wrote:Any idea what it could mean that I haven't even gone under review yet (applied late December, complete mid-January)?
In other words, it means nothing

It seems like you could email anyone in the admissions office or any of the people that signed the acceptance letters.wackadoodle wrote:So I apologize if this is an obnoxious question but what is the best way to withdraw? Not really sure who to email......

Re: USC 2010!
FWIW - I went to the USC reception in DC and it was actually very helpful in giving me a more tangible feel for the school. The admissions staff was incredibly friendly and personal as were the alumni. I also went to another schools reception in DC and got a completely different vibe about their law school just from the reception. I am visiting both schools in the next month but it is nice to already have some idea of what I'm getting myself into.afghan007 wrote:huh? what reception?!?thecubiclelife wrote:Nice. Re: USC 2010!
I don't see why meeting and talking to a law school's alumni isn't informative. You get to ask them about their law school experience and how they fared as alumni. Especially for a school like USC, which is not as well known outside of CA, going to a reception out of state would be really helpful to know how USC Law alumni are placing in other regions. I've been to two other school's receptions and they've really helped me get a feel for the schools.afghan007 wrote:huh? what reception?!?thecubiclelife wrote:Nice. Did you get an agenda? Re: USC 2010!
I got offered pretty much the same, I am definitely trying to negotiate, I have much better offers from WashU and Boston so I feel like I have to try to negotiate. Im would love to stay on the West Coast but I am open to work wherever, and out of the three I am most open to whoever will give me the least amount of debt.Dostoevsky wrote:20k (which I am thrilled about but not sure how to come up with the other 25+ p/y)
I don't know about negotiating - I want to, but it says "this is the full extent of grant or scholarship aid being offered to you", so I don't want to look like an idiot. What is the consensus?
I sent my email already so we'll see what happens...

My status changed from complete to DF on 3/19 without an IR status in between. Is that a good or bad sign?

Re: USC 2010!
To all of the DF 3/19ers, I think we have to wait at least a day or two longer for our letters (not that I'm anxiously awaiting my rejection..sigh). I live in Los Angeles and if they postmarked it on 3/19 I would've gotten the letter on Saturday...so my guess is they'll send it out today or tomorrow (..or the next day...or the next day...)

Anyone planning to be in LA for the April 16th Law Day? I may be driving down from the SF area on the 15th -- anyone interested in a carpool?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
