I was thinking of bringing a friend, but I'm glad that even if I don't, I won't be the only awkward loner in the room (not that you are an awkward loner, V6)
i would think most are coming by themselves actually. i had the opposite concern: would it be weird to bring someone

NYU said in the acceptance letter they'd be sending follow up material later on.
That was 2 weeks ago, since then I've gotten a Columbia acceptance AND all the Columbia follow-up material since then.
Just curious when I should expect more stuff from NYU? The CLS admitted students handbook cleared up what I need to do for the new month for financial aid, something from NYU would really help too and March 1st isn't all that far off.

I'm going alone, although I might invite my boyfriend to a specific event if it seems appropriate.

I thought I got more stuff from them about 2 weeks after the acceptance. You should probably get that soon.

I sent in a LOCI and additional LOR to NYU and supposedly they received it a week ago, but I haven't heard anything. Think I should call and check?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying extra hard in mass on Sundays! It's out of my hands now. I just want to know already, regardless of whether it's a rejection or admittance.

I was admitted on 1/19 and just received a second package with a letter from the Dean and the Law Magazine. Nothing about financial aid...
As to pikalove's comment, I will be bringing my fiance..

People were saying on the last page that they received an email confirming the documents they sent, saying that they were added to their file.

Yes, they sent me a confirmation email in response to the LOCI I emailed them.

I got a call from an NYU '09 graduate today asking if I had any questions about the school, which I thought was nice of them.

So, I know the RTK response period is officially February through early March. Do we have any better sense of timing...? I assume this is more of a late February thing?
And I will be going to the March 25/26 ASW alone...can't wait!

Congrats!
Was that the first time you'd checked today?

In via admitted students website! I had checked this morning and could not log in, so it updated some time today.
I don't usually check multiple times a day. I saw people had gotten in and decided to check again.
Also, so much for the CW that NYU is slow. I heard back from them faster than anyone else, even some really safe schools.

I hate to say this, because nothing is for certain without a letter, but I think I'm in. Just checked and I can log into the admitted students website. Applied on 12/28, complete 1/20. I won't believe it until I see that big purple envelope, however.
