He said he lives in NYC. But I'm not going to believe anything until there is another confirmation!

For those that have received decisions, when did your status checker change, if at all?

I'm surprised no one reported an e-mail acceptance before these snail mail acceptances. Last year, a few applicants based abroad got their decisions via e-mail before the snail mails for US applicants arrived. Wonder if they've changed their process for this cycle.

No change in my status checker. I believe after "complete," the Columbia status checker doesn't update any more.MF248 wrote:For those that have received decisions, when did your status checker change, if at all?

I know people have called NYU to see if a letter has been sent, do you think it is possible to have the kind of luck with Columbia?

Re: Columbia 2010
I've asked this before, but I'll repeat again -
If we only recently went complete, is it likely that we will have to behind all of those who applied earlier? Or is it the case that Columbia's policy of reviewing apps in the order they are completed only for appearances sake?

its not super strict but a roughly followed policy according to last years lsn. Still, students who went complete in december still hear late january often last year.CanadianEH wrote:I've asked this before, but I'll repeat again -

Re: Columbia 2010
Actually, I think they just send the rats from Columbia's campus. They always seem to scurry around right when prospective students are on guided tours, which is an obvious indication of their involvement with the admissions process. (No need to worry, though: Ivy League rats are much cleaner than their subway/sewer brethren.)puppins wrote:thousands of tiny rats from the sewers of NYC with letters tied to their backsMF248 wrote:Is it USPS, FedEx, UPS, Stork?of Benito Cereno wrote:RD applicants receive these by snail mail unless they are abroad, in which case they may (acceptances) hear by email.Moba wrote:I know the answer must be somewhere in the forum... but could someone tell me how does Columbia send rejections/acceptances?

Re: Columbia 2010
No one knows how it's going to be this cycle, but if past years are any indication, the first wave of acceptances will include everyone they're ready to admit now--even if they went complete very recently. People whose apps went complete in early-mid january last year were in the first batch.CanadianEH wrote:I've asked this before, but I'll repeat again -

They aren't rats, they're fancy mice. As discussed about forty pages ago. Only expect a carrier pigeon if you live south.
