Haven't heard anything either. Went UR 11/30. I'm really right under the borderline with my 169 and slightly sub 3.7. So I take the lack of a WL/ding to be a good thing... at least they haven't decided they don't want me.Boro88 wrote:I think they may have lost my file or took one look at it and said, "is that it?" cause I have not had an update since 12/1 went under review.

PT ED. (Binding Early Decision - I also selected the JD/MA English option). It seems like few people were offered this option. Nonetheless, I wasn't expecting anything this late in the day, especially since the others who received decisions indicated that their status checkers did not change from 1/28.Jericwithers wrote:

Email came. WAITLIST. I was expecting it with my numbers, but it still hurts. Oh, well, time to get crackin' on a LOCI.

I'm UR 1/8 and haven't heard a peep. It's a reach for me, and I didn't write a "why duke."

Is it true that Duke's regular WL is effectively a ding?

I think Duke only has one WL. Priority reserve is the equivalent of a hold. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, you lucky stiffs with PT apps.beef wellington wrote:Is it true that Duke's regular WL is effectively a ding?

Still UR 12/14.
Am I waiting for a WL/ding now or something?

It seems like everyone with similar numbers has been waiting a while ... that doesn't rule out, I suppose, the possibility that we will all be uniformly WL/dinged, but I am hopeful that they are just waiting to see how their class fills out before they make a decision on what to do with us.Kiersten1985 wrote:Still UR 12/14.Am I waiting for a WL/ding now or something?

Ya, according to a LSN search I did, pretty much everyone in our range (169, 3.5-3.7) is in a holding pattern. I wouldn't give up hope!MPMP wrote:It seems like everyone with similar numbers has been waiting a while ... that doesn't rule out, I suppose, the possibility that we will all be uniformly WL/dinged, but I am hopeful that they are just waiting to see how their class fills out before they make a decision on what to do with us.Kiersten1985 wrote:Still UR 12/14.Am I waiting for a WL/ding now or something?

Re: In at Duke!
what's the difference between a wait list and a hold? I applied priority track and got put on the priority reserve list. I just figured that was the same as the wait list, although I was a little surprised because I thought Duke was one of my safety schools. how is priority reserve different from being waitlisted?barrinmb wrote:I think Duke only has one WL. WL they will look at after they deal with the PR List, and sent out (a majority of) their acceptances.democrattotheend wrote:what's the difference between a wait list and a hold? PR means we are not sure whether to admit you or not, for many reasons, but we want to reserve that right, and make you feel good at the same time.

I think they'll look at you again before the people on the waitlist. You potentially have a better chance at getting a seat than they would.democrattotheend wrote:what's the difference between a wait list and a hold? That's my guess though, not an expert opinion.

Saddenz - PT decision. WL @ Duke, not even PR. Deciding whether it's worth a trip to east coast to visit and will send out LOCI.
