soooo these rejections never came today... i've been waiting

Just checked my spam folder to make sure. Had a nightmare that I wore the wrong skirt to my KB1 interview and she looked at it, clearly hated it and said "we don't usually do this right after the interview, but yeah...sorry". Been getting flashbacks of that dream *sigh*

I have a JS1 with no change and I think that everyone else who's gotten one said no change as well.

Do you get a new entry in your mailing list on the status page? I really don't want to have to obsess about my spam folder for the next 5 months too.

You didnt get that before they invited you though.

Sinfiery asked about mailings. That is the question I was responding to, not the original status change question.

The question was - Did your status change with the JS-1?

So no, it did not change with the JS1, but I got the status change. Maybe you are reading the question differently than I am.

I read it as, he hasnt gotten a JS! and is obsessing over his spam folder to see if he missed it. Thus the question was if there was a status change notifying you of the JS1. Your answer would imply yes, but the answer is no.

I was actually answering Sinfiery's question regarding mailings, not the question about the status change.

Not a status change, but an update to the status checker page under "mailings"

The change is simultaneous, I would assume. If you have the Status checker app, you would get the JS1 + status change email.

I submitted early December (after 3rd but still early) and I haven't gone complete yet. My numbers are at/above median. Any thoughts?

But that's after you schedule the interview, not after you receive the invitation for the interview.

Off-topic but for those who just received JS1s and who haven't scheduled their interview yet (or weren't able to), is Harvard's interview portal still showing no slots available for you guys as well? Or am I the only one left out in the cold here? I'm hoping more interview slots will materialize soon....

I apologize if this has been covered in past pages, but is there a way to find out who will be conducting the interview? In my confirmation e-mail, it simply says, "HLS Interviewer."

When you acknowledge the appointment and it embeds in iCal, the appointment information will show the name of your interviewer. CAVEAT: many people have been scheduled with JS and interviewed with KB, and vice versa.

When schools report GPAs to USNWR, do they report the LSDAS GPAs that they saw when they admitted the students, or do they report whatever is sent to them after a student is accepted (for example, a senior is accepted during his first semester but has a semester to go. His LSDAS GPA did not included senior year. Is that reported to USNWR? Or do schools report his entire record?)

I'm almost positive it's the final LSDAS GPA after graduation. That's part of the reason schools sometimes ask to see Fall grades before accepting students; they want to be reasonably certain you won't fall below a median or something by the time you graduate.

Is your senioritis that bad, man?

Haha, no I have done as good as usual this year. I was just curious .

Thank you once more Lavitz! One final thing: HLS doesn't require you to send your final grades to LSAC (we send the final transcript, straight from our undergrad, to them), so I dunno how they use our final LSDAS GPA.

Really? Well then maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Having sent my transcripts to LSAC after I graduated, I'm not that familiar with the nuances of the process for K-JDs; I thought you were required to submit your final transcripts to LSAC.

But I'm still pretty sure it's not simply the LSDAS GPA you had when they accept you or else we'd see schools jumping to accept applicants with barely-median GPAs in case they went down the next semester.
